Do you sleep like this? Do you wake up with low back pain? Have ever wondered what am I doing wrong?
If there is one tip we could give you to get you through the holiday hustle and bustle of back pain it’s this….
CHECK YOUR SLEEPING POSTURE!
The best posture for your spine is sleeping on your side as shown in the second picture. Place a pillow under your head so it stays in a neutral position. Hug up to a pillow with both arms to keep from collapsing your rib cage and stressing your shoulders and spine. Lastly, place a pillow between your knees keeping both knees bent to allow your pelvis to stay in a neutral position.
If you are sleeping in any other position, you’re likely adding stress to your spine. Give this tip a try for a few nights and see how you feel!
If you’re struggling with back pain, give us a call. We’d be happy to help isolate the cause so you can get a good night’s sleep and have more pain free energy during the day!
