We want to give a huge thank you to the Town of Seneca Falls Water & Sewer Department. While washing our trucks today, we noticed our floor drains were backing up. The Water & Sewer Department brought their Vac-Truck out and helped us clean them out. We really appreciate the help!

On Thursday January 22nd at 1145 hrs Seneca Falls Fire was requested to the scene of a structure fire on East Loop Rd in Montezuma. 1461, 1463, 1403, and 1451 responded. Around 1300 hrs command reassigned Seneca Falls to the Aurelius East Station for standby. Seneca Falls was released from standby around 1600 hrs. We had 9 members who responded.

Greg at RedHook Leather Lids LLC donated a leather helmet and their services for us to raffle off to support Mike Richards, a member of our firehouse who is currently battling serious medical challenges.

Mike is a proud firefighter, devoted family man, and a hardworking sound engineer. Over the past two years, he has been fighting metastatic prostate cancer, along with ischemic white matter disease, and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Due to his illness, Mike has been unable to work, and his family is facing financial hardship.

To help support Mike, we are raffling off a brand new N5A leather fire helmet, donated by Greg at RedHook Leather Lids. As an added bonus RedHook Leather Lids will include a free repaint to the color of your choice, helmet tets of your choice and a deep suspension upgrade.

Last night the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department held their holiday party at the SMS. Several members were presented with years of service pins while one member received the Richard A Hess Memorial Award and another received the Member of the Year award. Congratulations to Joseph Smith for receiving the Richard A Hess Memorial Award and Captain Greg Donato for receiving the Member of the Year Award. We also want to thank the crew at the SMS for cooking an amazing meal and the Fayette Fire Department for being on automatic with us to cover any calls.

On Friday December 26th at 1530 hrs the Seneca County Communications Center dispatched the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department , Seneca Falls Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance to a 2 car head on crash on River Rd near Bauer Rd. 1461, 1463, 1464, 1465, Engine 1, and Rescue 52 all responded. Assistant Chief Larsen (1463) was on location first reporting checkovers only. Due to weather conditions and one car across the entire road command shut River Rd down at the connector bridge and at Bauer Rd. North Seneca Ambulance arrived on location and did the checkovers on the patients. Seneca Falls Engine 1 crew arrived and handled hazards and road cleanup. Stevers Garage retrieved both vehicles and all units were clear of the scene in about 40 minutes.

With Christmas right around the corner I wanted to take an opportunity to thank every business, family, individual, and visitor who has donated food, snacks, and beverages to our department and volunteers during emergencies and our training nights. This little gesture from you all means alot to my people. My members are all volunteer who take time away from their families and jobs throughout the year to answer emergency and non emergency calls. They leave dinners, family functions, jobs, sporting events for their little children, nights of sleep, etc. to help out others in need. I also want to thank my members for sacrificing so much for the Town of Seneca Falls. Not everyone knows how much you all sacrifice but I do. And for that I thank you so much and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The Seneca Falls Vol. Fire Department would like to give a HUGE Thank You to Jeremy Wendt and the Town of Seneca Falls Highway Department. We were dispatched to a gas call at a residence located between Rt. 89 and Lower Lake road. The driveway was from 89 to Lower Lake rd. The Seneca Falls Engine was in a slippery situation with no way out. Jeremy had his crew there immediately and placed salt down so the Engine could safely drive back up the hill and leave. Jeremy and his crew were under no obligation to assist us but within minutes his crew was onsite to assist us. Again thank you to the Town Highway Department and Jeremy.
