Boundaries get a bad reputation. There is a misconception that when we set boundaries it means we do not care about other people. When in fact this is not true at all. When we give ourself permission to set boundaries it a lot of times can spread and people start realizing they can do the same for themselves.

Increase boundaries and decrease resentment, overextending, exhaustion, and so much more!

Goals...Why is it with every counselor they want you to make some goals? When we set a goal we are being intentional about the path we want to lay out for ourselves (see where this may be helpful for your therapist?) . From there you take little baby steps each day, week, month, etc toward that goal.

This is where I think we start to get tricked up with intentions or goals. Most of the time when a goal is made a deadline is set, and this can add unnecessary pressure. The focus then goes from the actual goal to the time it takes to complete the goal. There are some intentions or goals that we make for ourselves that just do not respond to a clock. It can take months or even years for some people to see the change they would like. But here is the thing the time it takes to reach that final goal doesn't take anything away from the effort and change you put along the way.

I challenge you today to make some intentions for yourself! What do you need from you? From there start walking down the path to get there, but remember it's going to take time get there.

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday! I just wanted to hop on here and talk about breaks. Sometimes we try and juggle too much. We take on work, family, friends, hobbies, etc. Balancing too many things can increase stress and anxiety, while decreasing our overall mental health balance. This is just a reminder that it is OKAY to take breaks from things. It's okay to say no to people or things when you plate is already full.

Take a minute to think about when was the last time you truly took a break and rested? What are your favorite ways to relax and disconnect from the stress of life?

Hello! And Welcome to Soul Work, Holistic Healing LLC! I am so excited you have stopped by or chosen to follow this page! My goal with this page is to advocate and educate on mental health, as well as, provide some daily management tips and/or encouragement for mental illness and life management.

Becoming a mental health counselor has been a goal of mine for many years. I am excited to share that September of this year that dream became official. I am excited to share that I am working alongside Creative Flame Counseling to bring both virtual and in person counseling services to Upstate South Carolina. My goal as a mental health counselor is to provide a safe space for individuals to explore the highs and lows of life.
