I used to think this was just how things were for us as working moms.

Turns out, I was just trying to build a life inside a schedule that had no room for me to have needs outside of work and kids.

This week in ONE morning, I had therapy, an orthodontist appointment for my daughter, school drop-offs, business calls, and content to create… and none of it felt like a crisis.

Not because life got less busy.

Because my work finally fits around my life.

Not taking the time to figure out your exit number - the number that would actually ALLOW you to leave, is the reason you’re still stuck in the same place you were when you first started thinking about it years ago.

This allows you to have a target to aim for - a realistic number that gets you moving instead of dreaming.

Yesterday I took my kids to a parade.

No PTO request. No hoping my parents were free. No guilt spiral about being “unavailable.” I just planned my week, wrapped up my work on Thursday, and showed up on Friday as their mom.

That used to feel impossible. Back in corporate, a random school holiday meant logistics. Phone calls. Favors. And even when it worked out, I still felt like I was sneaking something I wasn’t supposed to have.

Now it’s just… Tuesday. Or Friday. Or whenever I decide.

If we haven’t met yet, 👋🏻 I’m Marli, and I’ve trained over 600 high-achieving women to walk away from demanding careers and build a sleep consulting business that actually works for them.

Has anyone else done a complete 180 on what they actually want?

Because I spent years chasing the next title, the next raise, the next rung on a ladder that I wanted in my 20s.

And somewhere between the back to back meetings and the performance reviews and the weekend calls, I realized something.

I don’t want out of working. I want out of working like THAT.

I still want to build something. I still want to contribute and earn and feel proud of what I do.

I just want to do it on my own terms.

With control over my calendar. With the ability to pick my kids up from school without asking permission. With work that actually feels like me.
