Recently at Neuro RehabCare of Kansas City, our PT and OT teams got creative with outdoor sessions that build strength, mobility, and functional skills. Gary made strong daily progress in an outdoor physical therapy session, while shop class engaged clients in a hands-on project—purchasing supplies at Home Depot and applying protective coating to a wooden flower bed. Armando showed impressive focus with precise brush strokes, and Gary drew on his pre-injury painting experience. These simple tasks show incredible growth in abilities!
Our OT team led a dynamic outdoor walk and race group promoting endurance, balance, and wheelchair skills. Armando powered to the finish line, Gary practiced manual wheelchair use and short-distance walking, and Max showcased his signature speed. Even Dr. Leaf joined the races, and the team measured distances for an upcoming walking group. These creative PT and OT activities highlight the meaningful progress possible through purposeful, fun rehabilitation.
