We had a great opportunity to connect with the community at the Johnson County Vendor Fair. Megan and Emma enjoyed sharing information about Neuro RehabCare of Kansas City’s specialized neurological rehabilitation services and building meaningful professional connections.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—we truly appreciated the conversations and look forward to staying in touch!

Recently at Neuro RehabCare of Kansas City, our PT and OT teams got creative with outdoor sessions that build strength, mobility, and functional skills. Gary made strong daily progress in an outdoor physical therapy session, while shop class engaged clients in a hands-on project—purchasing supplies at Home Depot and applying protective coating to a wooden flower bed. Armando showed impressive focus with precise brush strokes, and Gary drew on his pre-injury painting experience. These simple tasks show incredible growth in abilities!

Our OT team led a dynamic outdoor walk and race group promoting endurance, balance, and wheelchair skills. Armando powered to the finish line, Gary practiced manual wheelchair use and short-distance walking, and Max showcased his signature speed. Even Dr. Leaf joined the races, and the team measured distances for an upcoming walking group. These creative PT and OT activities highlight the meaningful progress possible through purposeful, fun rehabilitation.

We are proud of Matt’s progress as he begins walking on the treadmill this week. His dedication to physical therapy is helping him rebuild mobility and improve endurance after becoming severely deconditioned due to a brain injury.

At Neuro RehabCare Scottsdale, we provide compassionate, expert rehabilitation designed to restore function and promote lasting recovery for individuals working to reclaim an active life.

Reaction time is often significantly impacted following a brain injury, which can increase an individual’s risk for falls and limit safe mobility. MK has been using Blaze Pods in physical therapy to target quicker responses and rebuild this critical skill. Through targeted, evidence-based interventions at Neuro RehabCare Scottsdale, we support each person’s journey toward greater independence and safety.

Recently, Randy, Armando, Lacy, and Ana from Neuro RehabCare KC volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Shawnee, Kansas.

Randy made his first delivery, carefully counting meals and personally handing them to clients.

He enjoyed a brief conversation with a resident who recognized his hometown. Armando, supported by Lacy and Ana, walked to a door and appreciated getting out on a sunny day.

At Neuro RehabCare KC, we believe meaningful community engagement supports neurorehabilitation by building confidence, enhancing social connections, and promoting functional recovery.

Client Spotlight: Fitness, Recovery & Community in KC!

At Neuro RehabCare, we’re all about whole-body growth and watching our clients thrive beyond the clinic.

Payton from INCLŪSIV Wellness made a special house call today for Max and Ryan’s weekly Help Me Fit Challenge workouts — both guys were excited as always and look forward to these sessions.

Huge props also to MC and ZRB who are crushing it at INCLŪSIV Wellness, the adaptive gym founded right here in Kansas City by Wesley Hamilton of Netflix’s Q***r Eye.

MC and ZRB are making serious gains in strength, confidence, and independence — exactly the kind of inclusive energy that pairs perfectly with our neuro rehab programs.
Follow their journeys here for weekly updates and more inspiration!

A big thank you to Payton and the whole INCLŪSIV Wellness team for bringing adaptive fitness directly to our clients and helping promote this great program alongside Disabled But Not Really.

Juan Carlos recently graduated from Neuro RehabCare after completing an intensive rehabilitation program. Over the past several months, he demonstrated exceptional dedication by attending every therapy session without exception and actively participating in all scheduled outings with genuine enthusiasm. His consistent effort contributed to meaningful progress in his functional abilities and overall independence. Known for his kindness and polite demeanor, Juan Carlos made a positive impression on the entire clinical team through his frequent expressions of gratitude in English.

We are proud of the strides Juan Carlos achieved during his time with us and wish him continued success as he returns to Mexico to reunite with his wife and children. His journey highlights the importance of commitment and a positive attitude in neurorehabilitation.

At Neuro RehabCare, we remain committed to supporting individuals as they build strength, regain skills, and transition toward their next chapter with confidence and resilience.

Recently, we had the joy of celebrating Jerald’s birthday with him!

Jerald has made remarkable progress through dedicated rehabilitation. He is now able to stand with support to engage in meaningful functional activities such as writing and eating, achievements that highlight his determination and the skilled support of our interdisciplinary team.

Intentionally celebrating milestones with family and friends plays a powerful role in a patient’s recovery.

These moments foster emotional well-being, reinforce a sense of belonging, and provide vital encouragement that fuels continued progress. We are deeply grateful for the loving support of Jerald’s family and friends, as well as the extended family he has built here at Neuro RehabCare.

Happy birthday, Jerald! Your strength and spirit inspire us.

Max, Lacy, Ana, and Jonathan visited El Mercado Fesco Fresh Market to select weekly produce.

Max independently navigated the store using a Spanish-translated grocery list and selected each item himself. This community outing supported functional cognitive and executive functioning skills—planning, sequencing, problem-solving, and environmental navigation—through occupational therapy for TBI and SCI recovery.

Max inquired about our next visit, showing strong engagement with this favorite market destination.
Great work with occupational therapy goals, Lacy!

Happy Easter from all of us at Neuro RehabCare.

This week, our clients embraced the joy of the season by creating beautiful Easter artwork through painting. These creative activities are far more than festive fun. They play a meaningful role in supporting recovery after traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury.

Painting and other art-based therapies help strengthen fine motor skills, enhance focus and concentration, provide a healthy outlet for emotional expression, and foster a renewed sense of confidence as clients bring their visions to life. They also offer a calming way to reduce stress, encourage social connection, and deliver that powerful feeling of accomplishment.

We are so proud of every brushstroke and every smile these creative moments have brought. Moments like these remind us how small acts of creativity can lead to big steps in rehabilitation and healing.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful, joyful, and hope-filled Easter.
