Neuro RehabCare is a comprehensive post-acute brain and spinal cord rehabilitation residential care facility focused on helping individuals attain the highest level of personal and social independence in order to improve and maximize their quality of life.

Kicking off the holiday season with light, laughter, and loved ones at Luminary Lights at the Arboretum! 🎄

For many of our TBI and SCI clients, the holidays can feel heavy — but nights like this remind us that joy is still possible. Jonathan and his incredible crew bundled up, rolled through the glowing trails, and soaked in the magic together.

At Neuro RehabCare, we believe the holiday spirit doesn’t have to wait for December — we work every day to bridge the gap between hospital and home, creating moments of celebration, connection, and hope all year long.

🎄 Meet Randy, NRC KC’s official Christmas tree of 2025!

We surprised him after craft time today and wrapped him up in twinkling lights — our brightest, happiest human Christmas tree yet! Randy was all smiles, striking poses and absolutely glowing with joy.

The pride and laughter on his face lit up the entire room brighter than any tree ever could. This is what the holidays are truly about: pure happiness, big love, and making memories together.

Randy, you’re the best Christmas tree we could ever ask for. Thank you for bringing the magic! ❤️🎅

First snowfall of the season at NRC KC!
❄️ The holiday spirit is alive and well!

Randy had his shovel ready by the door for a whole week, and today he crushed it — clearing sidewalks, part of the driveway, and digging out snow around the vehicles. He was absolutely beaming with pride!

Juan hopped on FaceTime to show friends and family the winter wonderland, while Jonathan and Lawrence powered through the snowy roads and still made their morning appointments — huge shoutout to their commitment!

After Dom’s current events session, Maddy led craft time with step-by-step snowman ornament directions — fantastic practice for following instructions and staying on task for everyone!

A bittersweet goodbye to our hearts are full, but the pergola will always remind us of Zach 💙

Last week we celebrated Zach’s final day with us at NRC Scottsdale. This incredible man didn’t just recover, he dreamed up, planned, managed, directed, AND helped build the beautiful pergola that now shades our backyard hangouts for all our residents.

From brainstorming the design to swinging the hammer, Zach left his mark in the most literal way.

We’re going to miss that smile and leadership every single day… but nothing makes us happier than sending him HOME to his family where he belongs 🏡✨

Safe travels, Zach. You’ll always have a piece of NRC (and we’ll always have a piece of you).

�Jonathan and Randy teamed up to build a custom table for one of our resident’s rooms, and Randy was absolutely in his element. You can just see the confidence radiating off him!

Huge win on so many levels: meaningful project, woodworking skills on top, and awesome practice collaborating side-by-side with his DSP. Therapy doesn’t always happen on a mat; sometimes it happens with a drill in hand and a friend beside you!

A huge thank you to our amazing DSP Jonathan for bringing his adorable piggy, Olive, for a special visit! Our clients and staff were absolutely smitten; she had everyone laughing and grinning from ear to ear. Moments like these make our days extra special.

Thanksgiving weekend at Neuro RehabCare

We’re keeping the holiday spirit alive with meaningful, real-life therapy and community outings:

• Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day Run
• Thanksgiving bingo and current events sessions
• Café outings to Café Equinox (with greenhouse treasure hunts for plant cards—the joy when one is finally found is priceless)
• Lunch at El Pulgarcito
• Patients independently placing and paying for their own orders online and getting cash at their banks—major money-management milestones

Grateful for every hard-won victory, every shared laugh, and this incredible TBI & SCI community that continues to support and inspire one another. Holidays truly are better together.

A Thanksgiving moment we’ll carry in our hearts at our Scottsdale location: two of our incredible residents spontaneously sitting down for a joyful piano “duet.”

Watching them initiate, laugh, and make music together reminds us how deeply grateful we are for each client’s courage, spirit, and unique gifts. Truth is, they bless and inspire us far more than we could ever give back.

This Thanksgiving, our hearts are full—thank you to every resident, family, and team member who makes Neuro RehabCare feel like home.

Family time is the best rehab there is! 🧡

Dom’s face lit up the moment his little guy walked in – that kind of love heals in ways medicine and therapies never could.

A few tips for anyone visiting a loved one with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or spinal cord injury (SCI):

• Keep the energy calm and positive – short, sweet visits are often perfect.

• Bring something familiar from home (a favorite song, blanket, snack, or photo) – familiar smells, sounds, and textures can spark memories and comfort like nothing else.

These moments mean the world to our patients… and to us. 💙

Randy, thank you for reminding us what real strength looks like, for the laughs, the hard work, and the way you make every person in this facility feel seen and cared for. We’re so grateful you’re part of the RehabCare Kansas City family and so proud of every step you’ve taken on this journey.

Happy Birthday to one of the toughest, kindest, most generous souls we know! Here’s to many more years of cowboy hats, Wrangler shirts, and that unbreakable farmer spirit. We love you, Randy!
