Our rehab treatment plans cater to individuals and meet the changing needs of our clients as they progress. Neuro RehabCare is a comprehensive post-acute brain and spinal cord rehabilitation residential care facility focused on helping individuals attain the highest level of personal and social independence in order to improve and maximize their quality of life.

Our residents took the lead in planning this outing over several days—practicing executive functioning, decision-making, and teamwork every step of the way. At the studio, they honed fine motor skills, unleashed their creativity, worked on budgeting, and strengthened social pragmatics in a real-world setting.

One of our incredible participants demonstrated remarkable creativity, determination, and adaptability this evening by using his wheelchair to scoot a Dyson vacuum cleaner around our NRC home — turning household chores into an accessible, independent task!

This resourceful approach highlights his growing ability to contribute meaningfully to daily living while receiving the supportive care he needs in our Kansas City program. By adapting tools and techniques to his mobility, he’s actively building skills for greater self-reliance in a safe, encouraging environment.

Community and Independence in Action at Neuro RehabCare

A group of participants enjoyed a rewarding afternoon at the barn, engaging in relaxed, meaningful activities amid the fresh air. These outings offer valuable opportunities for socialization, leisure, and promoting greater independence.

Our newest participant seamlessly joined the group for engaging rounds of Mexican Train dominoes, demonstrating excellent integration and enthusiasm with the custom-adapted game setup.

With ideal weather, the session transitioned outdoors to the patio for a lively game of Uno, allowing everyone to benefit from sunshine and continued social interaction.
These purposeful recreational experiences highlight the importance of connection, joy, and progress in our TBI/SCI rehabilitation community.

A meaningful community outing at Neuro RehabCare - Kansas City!

Armando joined our weekly trip to the bank and market, practicing real-world skills every step of the way. He navigated getting in and out of the NRC van with confidence and independence—a huge win in his mobility progress!

While shopping, Armando proudly selected cookies made in Guatemala, sharing a piece of his heritage with the group. He couldn’t resist enjoying one right there in the store (and we don’t blame him!).

These outings are more than errands—they’re opportunities for our residents to rebuild daily living skills, boost confidence, and stay connected to the community they love.

We’re so proud of Armando’s hard work and spirit!
