I should also add that it's never TMI πŸ’“

I love that we live in an age where we have so much research and so many resources.

I hate that our attention span is reduced to 30-60s reels to teach people about their bodies

I hate that quick fixes and partial answers get more attention than thoughtful discussions

I love that more moms are learning about how to help each other out of the trenches

I wish that more of them understood the very large scope that falls into pelvic floor PT and how recovery isn't one size fits all

I hate that people less qualified than me will make content that travels fast and far with partial truths when I agonize about how to deliver accurate but useful information

Great care happens in the spaces you don't see on the Internet
πŸ’“ sitting with you in the hard moments
πŸ’“ being able to pivot when the textbook fix isn't it
πŸ’“ giving you space to tell your story without judgement
πŸ’“ hearing goals and forging a way forward even if that requires a referral out
πŸ’“ advocating for better options

The reality of pelvic health is that a lot of the stories I hear in my office are often heartbreaking, I'm honored to create the space where people feel safe to share them.

I love exercise

9.5 times out of 10 I show up enthusiastically to my workouts

But some days my brain makes it hard to start

The PTSD leaves me in a freeze, there's decision paralysis, I can't seem to get moving

My heart rate being elevated makes me feel like I'm fighting for my life and my kids life again and that feels--im not sure I can describe that honestly

Healing hasn't been linear, I have more good days than I used to but the bad days feel as awful as they always have, it's just shorter before I find my way back

Parenting is hard. Making time for yourself is hard. There's a million hurdles and reasons I could tell myself to sit it out. But when I show up anyways its usually grounding

Today it didn't feel like enough to just move. So I'm carving out a little time to rest and sit with the hard stuff. The hardest things are the ones we can't fix, that we have to sit with and care for

This time of year is always hard. This holiday reminds me of my son's birthday where it all started so I'm taking some quiet time for myself and my family this weekend 🩡

Suspension dead bugs you say?πŸͺ²

I like it πŸ’ͺ

A fun challenge for cross body stability

Works the obliques and TA to create a level body

Bonus work for scapular stabilizers and the hip rotators

It felt like a lot more brain and coordination work than muscle strain, but that's not a bad thing.

Those exercises that make you think, adjust your strategy and balance are awesome for injury prevention and can help you build better patterns in bigger lifts and explosive movements

Save this for your next workout and lmk what you think πŸ’“πŸ’ͺ

When it comes to postpartum recovery, too many women are told they are at their "ceiling" without exploring all their options

Why?
🩡 Insurance cuts off care after a few visits
🩡 Not having specific exercise progression, regression, or cues to bridge the gap between where you struggle and the demands of the task you want to achieve
🩡 Have not explored passive support options to compensate for structural changes
🩡 Jumping into hard activities too early
🩡 Poor accountability systems to keep you on track
🩡 Lack of education in providers to look inside and outside the pelvis and at all your mechanics (we all have our strengths and weaknesses, sometimes a second opinion is really important)

Training for what we love matters. Need help finding the way forward? Let's talk about your goals!

Save this for your next core workout!

Can't do a full Copenhagen? Try bending that top leg so the whole lower leg (knee + ankle) is on the box

This last week was a whirlwind πŸŒͺ️

A lot packed on the calendar, some planned, a lot unexpected. The best laid plans turned into only time for a few quick walks as a family before tucking some tired kiddos into bed.

Sometimes it happens.

My last workout was last Tuesday. But Thursday I was feeling bummed I hadn't exercised. By Friday my brain felt wrapped a little tight

But the weekend I was feeling a little sluggish. My mood was lower. My ability to focus wasn't great.

Yesterday I was so excited to get back at it. Then an unexpected family emergency popped up.

That's life. So many moms find themselves taking care of kiddos, parents, friends, partners. It's the caretaker era.

It's really important to take care of ourselves too.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. Perfectionism leaves us convinced that if it's not a 45-60 min perfectly cutrated session it's not worth it at all. Our inner critic tells us we are being selfish and should be doing something else. I think it's worth challenging those views. Ask yourself where that comes from? And if it's really serving you?

Today I got my workout in and felt a lot less messy. My body feels better, but even more importantly my brain and mood feel better.

Getting started is hard, sticking with it long enough to feel the difference it makes in your body is harder. But it makes coming back to it 1000% easier.

It's like a craving.

I always say my exercise is my "me time" and I really mean that. I'd choose that over most things because it brings me peace. It makes me feel most like myself

I feel strong, I feel happy, it grounds me, it relaxes and organizes my mind, I always leave feeling better--even if it's a 15 min walk, it's worth it.
