Our twins have a birthday this week & one is a big fan. Hopefully, she gets out of this guy. I personally like him!

My lovely wife reminded me this morning that today is the 5 year anniversary of my start of chemo for leukemia. It's been a wild 5 years & with all we've been through it's even wilder to step back & realize that the day I was diagnosed with cancer was the worst day in my life, and now it's more like top five. I'm blessed to be in remission, blessed to still have my family complete, and blessed that God put in my life to help me through.
I still have several friends going through their own fight, some recently diagnosed & some on the other side of it. I pray for all of them, as I know they do for me. Cancer sucks, but it doesn't have to be the end. Lean on others & fight until you can't fight anymore.
Lastly, you've probably noticed my extended time away from woodworking. I think I just needed to focus on other things. I'm slowly getting back, and I can say that Curl of the Burl is officially OPEN FOR BUSINESS AGAIN. I'm taking orders again & soon will be restocked. Let me know what I can do for you. Thank you all for the support!

Man, it's incredible when great people do nice things. The twins just celebrated their 11th birthday and the kind folks at came out with their mobile petting zoo and celebrated with us. They are 100% awesome, so if you're looking for a great time, have them come out to your next event!

So I made VERY few things for Christmas this year for obvious reasons, but this is by far the coolest. Ella's band director, Mr. Lucich, does an incredible job & works tirelessly for those kids. Outside of his love for the Lord, family & music, the rank right up there. So his gift this year was a conductor's baton made out of wood from the seats at , made possible by . How cool is that!

Post op follow up was today & Evelyn is doing really good. Thank you all again for all the support, we couldn't do it without you!

Look at the hospital pic now because this chick is headed home later today! Seems awfully soon to us, but she is as tough as nails.
Thank you all for the prayers and everything else! We could not do this without so much support. We ask for continued prayers for healing and pain management.

Feeling that we're on the road to recovery & praying it continues. Evelyn is awake, aware & talking this morning! She's actually eating breakfast now. Thank you all SO MUCH for your prayers, kind words & support. There is still a long way to go, but so much better than we were. God is so good...

Quick update...midday things were great. Initial surgery went great. Unfortunately, the post-op angiogram showed an additional residual issue. She is now finishing up surgery #2 (and 11 hours in) & then off to angiogram #2. We ask for prayers for a clean angiogram this time, and no issues waking up (which will probably be in the morning at this point). Thank you all for your support...
