When I meet with families and explain what exactly a doula even is, I often find myself saying that so much of what I get to do is supporting dads while they support their wives. I know birth and they know their person better than anyone in the world, so really we just all get to be a team. I love what I get to do. I love watching men become fathers and getting to witness those tender raw moments drenched in brand newness. I love helping dads cheer on their partners through one of the most intense processes in existence. I love helping them hold their tiny new ones skin to skin and help them finally take a deep breath as they “meet” their baby . So cheers to you- to all dadas but especially the dads who have let me into your sacred spaces and let me bear witness to the holiness of it all. Thank you.

All births are an honor but this one was a little extra special. A few years back I spent countless days and hours arranging wedding flowers aside this girl’s talented momma and dada— so watching their world get rearranged by welcoming “Birdie” was the giddiest kind of gift. Little miss joined us in all her 8lb 1oz glory to parents full of brave and strong. How she’s already over 3 months old is entirely beyond me.
Bailey Family, thank you for trusting me in some of your tenderest moments. I’m forever for y’all 🤍

Let’s talk about VERNIX. Aka magical cheesy goodness. As someone who is anaphylacticly allergic to dairy, this is truly the only cheese I love 🤍🌙

Today this little man is celebrating 3 weeks earthside. His momma is truly one of strongest brave. It was an absolute honor to support her as she delivered him completely OP (sunny side up). There’s just something about those brand new momma tears that make me swoon every time (and assisting dad with the first diaper change). Welcome to the swaddled in stars family, I’m so thankful to have witnessed your grand debut ✨

This precious baby boy is celebrating two whole weeks of breathing earth air. Their birth story is beautiful and hard and holy and it was the biggest honor to be by their sides. Worship music filled the room as they leaned on one another and ultimately the Lord’s strength. He emerged with his hand up by his face, waving hello to this wild spinning world. You are so loved little one 💙

The first day of September dawned with a glimpse of fall— a morning in the 60s had me wishing I was cuddled up with this babe. Happy 5th week of breathing earth air little Zeke, it was an honor to witness your arrival and the tender brave strength of your momma and daddy 🤍

The proudest new dad with the tiniest new babe. Thankful for a beautiful birth with the bravest momma and a few extra weeks of snuggles with this little one who decided it was time 🤍 What an honor it was to be by your side for his very first breath.
Shout out to all of the nurses and doctors who cared so deeply!!!

Due dates are really guess dates. There is some research out there that risks increase every so slightly as we gestate, but your body is smart. Trust it and release the date.
