Taking care of yourself is a revolutionary act. 💜 During tough times, self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Whether it’s resting, reaching out for support, or finding joy in small moments, prioritize your well-being. Together, we can continue the fight for LGBTQ+ students with strength and resilience.

We recognize that many local LGBTQ+ couples are, understandably, urgently seeking to get married prior to January 20, a timeline that many were not originally planning on. We also recognize that weddings aren’t affordable for everyone. To this end, we’re thrilled to share the upcoming Big Gay Wedding, wedding ceremonies free of charge - presented by our friends at First Universalist Church of Rochester, NY, First Unitarian Church of Rochester and Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua - on Saturday, January 11 at First Universalist Church (150 S. Clinton Ave. Rochester, NY), 10:00am-2:00pm.

💒 From the organizers: “We are hosting a Big Gay Wedding on Saturday, January 11, from 10am-2pm! A time for LGBTQIA+ people to get married free of charge. Ministers will provide a simple ceremony with musical accompaniment. **Couples planning to get married will need to bring a marriage certificate for ministers to sign.**

Donations will be solicited from local bakeries and florists. Private ceremonies will be offered as well as public ceremonies.

To support this event or ask any questions, please contact Rev. Lane-Mairead Campbell at minister@uuroc.org.”

S-E Students!
If you expressed an interest in GSA this year, I have emailed you a survey about what you would like to accomplish this year and when you can meet. This survey is located in your school email account.

There is a possibility that on campus meetings will not occur this year as they have not been attended as of yet. This is why I would like to gain as much information from you as I can.
These social media pages will continue on this year as usual, but hopefully we can all find a time to gather.

If you are a student and would like to take the survey, let me know or just share your thoughts with me on school email!

I am looking forward to hearing your ideas about what we can do in person or virtually!

Ms. Snogles :)

LGBTQ+ history is human history 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

From the Stonewall Rebellion to freedom to marry; from Bayard Rustin to Marsha P. Johnson; from the National March on Washington for Le***an and Gay Rights of 1979 to the Equality March on Washington of 2016. 📢

For those LGBTQ+ organizers who spent years advocating in the halls of Congress to those angel allies who blocked protesters outside of the funeral of Matthew Shephard.

Our collective history is ingrained in our movement and our memory. As we continue our mission to prevent su***de amongst LGBTQ+ young people, we honor those heroes of q***r, trans, and intersex history whose visibility and vulnerability mixed with courage of conviction led to social, political, and cultural change.

This LGBTQ+ History Month, we carry our history into the future as those who fought for equity, justice, and equality watch it come to fruition through our eyes. 🧡
