I'd like to nominate my grandpa, Retired Navy Stephen Allen. He was in Vietnam and was a door gunner. He doesn't talk much about Vietnam. I do know he has a Purple Heart and scars on his legs from shrapnel. I'm so proud of my grandpa for committing his life to the service of our country, and our freedom- Melissa Ballew

On behalf of Serenity Best Home Health and in recognition of Armed Forces Day, I had the pleasure on Friday (5/20) of being invited into Woodlands Place Rehabilitation Suites in Denison by Denitta Garrison. We paid tribute to six Veterans: one Army Air Force WWII Veteran, one Korean War Veteran, and four Vietnam era Veterans including Mark Garrison, RN DON of the Woodlands Place (Veteran of the Army and Coast Guard). Each Veteran received an Appreciation Certificate, American flag lapel pin and a beautiful medal with the inscription "Thank You" on the reverse of an Eagle (medals provided by Brandon Jarvis from Texoma EMS). Thank you Denitta, Mark and staff for allowing us to recognize your resident Veterans!
