Blood donation impacts lives, and for patients with sickle cell disease, who donates matters. A single patient with sickle cell disease can require thousands of blood transfusions throughout their lifetime. Transfusions from someone with a close blood type match reduces the risk of immune reactions, alloimmunizations, and other transfusion complications.
💡 1 in 3 African American blood donors are a match for someone living with sickle cell.
That means more compatible transfusions, better care, and healthier futures.
This Black History Month, be part of the lifesaving difference.
🩸 Donate blood.
