Blood donation impacts lives, and for patients with sickle cell disease, who donates matters. A single patient with sickle cell disease can require thousands of blood transfusions throughout their lifetime. Transfusions from someone with a close blood type match reduces the risk of immune reactions, alloimmunizations, and other transfusion complications.

💡 1 in 3 African American blood donors are a match for someone living with sickle cell.

That means more compatible transfusions, better care, and healthier futures.

This Black History Month, be part of the lifesaving difference.
🩸 Donate blood.

Everyday is a good day to save lives. Everyday is a good day to save lives. 🦫

The average blood donor gives just 1.5 times per year, but patients rely on a steady blood supply every single day. Most donors are eligible to donate multiple times annually—making an even bigger lifesaving impact.

⏰ In 2026, break the cycle and give blood on repeat.

A first-time donor with a big heart ❤️ He shared that he’s always wanted to help others—and with one donation, he’s helping save up to three lives.

After the recent winter storm impacted operations and blood collections, the need for donors is critical. If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is the time to step up and help our community.

We will return to regular operations at all centers on Thursday, January 29 and we are ready to welcome you back in! ⏰ Please note our El Dorado center will have a delayed opening of 10am.

Right now, we urgently need platelet donors. Platelets have a shelf life of only 5-7 days, and missing even one day of platelet collections has a direct impact on local patients in our hospitals—especially those undergoing cancer treatment, trauma care, and complex surgeries. 🏥

Patients are still counting on lifesaving platelet transfusions right now, and we need donors to keep up with demand. If you’re eligible, please consider scheduling a platelet donation today at one of our open centers. Your time truly saves lives. 💙
