Crossover- Heartbeat Breath with hand positions and crossed ankles:

This brain-flex exercise helps to create a bridge between the left and right hemispheres so they communicate and focus on the same idea, or project, or belief. If you have looked at diagrams that show the different functions of the brain parts, you know that they hold and process different information and processes. The left brain is more little picture, factual — logical, right-now, detail- oriented; but the Big Picture right brain is creative, calm, visual, emotional. Repeated several times a day, this activity has the potential to create bridges between the left and right brain hemispheres, which can calm anxiety, and/or confusion. This can result in clear thinking, help with ADD/ADHD, better memory, improved comprehension and problem solving, with greater performance on tests and at work. Parents and teachers — think of calmer and more focused children — it happens!

With the beginning of a new school year, I can't withhold this amazing information!! I wish I had known this when I was a classroom teacher!!
With crossed ankles and wrists with thumbs pointed down, lace fingers. Relax and close your eyes. Just feel your breath relax and follow and feel your inner heartbeat for about 30 seconds to a minute ... that’s all. The effects of calm last for a couple of hours, and the more you do it, the longer it lasts, until you have retrained your brain for better problem-solving (more like smarter thinking on AutoPilot.) It’s a great tactic to use for understanding technical or difficult information, etc. This connection can help relieve self-sabotage, as well. Computer scans before and after a month of practice (3 times a day) have shown improvements in the brain matrix!

My clients that are students (children and adults) love it for studying, and they use this technique before tests. They are able to learn, remember, and perform better on tests (some say that they even guess better). One of my junior high clients liked her improved reading and math grades so much that she showed her homeroom class and had them do the Crossover Heartbeat together. She reported in our next session, “That’s the best day we’ve had all year! The teacher was amazed at how quiet we were!” Again, parents and teachers...
