Starting Saturday, January 10, 2026 one of our counselors will be offering a 5 week series which will cover the basics of healing and knowledge often provided to individuals during one-on-one therapy sessions.
There is such a need for mental health services. We are constantly getting calls and referrals and do not have enough space to see everyone. So, this is an effort to offer something to all those who aren’t able to get in to a counselor or the cost is prohibitive.
This does not replace one-on-one counseling or medication, but is meant to be an introduction to the tools and knowledge that help people grow and heal.
This will be in a small closed group setting. Will happen once a week on Saturdays from noon-1pm at the Cutting Edge Dance Studio.
The cost out of pocket (if insurance is not billed) will be $250 for the series ($50 per class). However, insurance will also accepted. To bill insurance you will need to provide verification of a recent billable diagnosis and your insurance information.
The following is an overview of the itinerary for this series:
Week 1: Introduction to healing. Understanding what happens when our body and mind experience stress or trauma. Learn the ways our body naturally moves through stress and trauma. Introduce breathwork, body scanning, gradual muscle relaxation, and imagery.
Week 2: Introduction to parts work. Overview of Internal Family Systems Therapy. Engage in exercise related to parts work. Learn how to apply this at home/on your own.
Week 3: Introduction to EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). Information provided regarding bilateral stimulation and what it does. Engage in an exercise in class using these tools. Learn how to utilize this at home/on your own. A list of EMDR trained providers will also be provided.
Week 4: Introduction to ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) & the Flash Technique. Learn about emotional versus logical memory and how to rewrite emotional memory. Engage in an exercise in class using the Flash Technique.
Week 5: Understanding ADHD and neurodiversity. Learn about brain differences with ADHD and how that impacts us. Explore how movement assists with focus and concentration.
Each class will also include learning a different breathwork, movement, or meditation that aligns with healing and wellness. Itinerary may be adjusted slightly as the group unfolds; depending on group needs.
This class will be facilitated by Sarah A. Perrault, a licensed mental health counselor, a licensed addiction counselor, and a registered yoga teacher.
