There is never a more humbling or honorable message than Gratitude. Often times we wake up and we think about what we have to do for the day. Make coffee, go to work, maybe wake up the kids for school. The whole day is spent constantly thinking of the next step. The next task. How many people actually show gratitude for being given a chance for another day?
The last few years have been very humbling for me. Going through an abusive relationship that taught me how to find my voice to watching my daughter go through serious depression and suicidal thoughts. I have been like the whale who tries to keep my baby above water so she can take her first breath. Hoping she will breath and open her eyes and live to explore the worlds oceans. Doing everything I can to keep her from drowning. There's been many trips to the hospital, sherrifs at my door doing wellness checks. Screaming, crying, fear in every day that I will lose my child. I cry now thinking about how her going through all of this wasn't just a lesson for her, but a lesson for me as well. The last few months have been better. So much better. And now I am reminded that it is time to show gratitude that we made it out on the other side. Even if the near future is uncertain.
Remember that you are here for a purpose, even if you do not understand it right now. The universe is grateful that you have taken on the task the you chose at birth
Showing gratitude in every day, no matter how tiny it may be, the cup of coffee, waking your kids up for school, going to work, all of it deserves a thank you and a moment of gratitude for the opportunity to have these things. Even the hardest days deserve gratitude, as they themselves have a message. Showing you how important you are, your family, the gratitude of a community coming together to support you or your family. That you matter in every day.
Showing gratitude helps open blockages to receiving. It frees you from fears and doubts. It can lift a pain from you that you didn't know you were carrying. No matter what is happening around you, there is always something to be grateful for.
I'm grateful for my children whom I love more than anything in this world, my cup of coffee, and all of you.
