A Thanksgiving Message of Grace and Resolve
As we gather in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to offer each of you a message of deep gratitude, solidarity, and hope. This season calls us to pause, breathe, and remember the profound grace that persists even in days touched by uncertainty, tension, and transformation.
These are undeniably trying sociopolitical times. The conversations around us can feel heavy, the divisions sharp, and the demands on your hearts and hands unrelenting. Yet through it all, you continue to embody an unwavering commitment to healing. As nurses you step into rooms where fear and fatigue are palpable and create spaces of calm. You advocate for those whose voices are too often overlooked. You carry histories of resilience while shaping futures defined not by limitation but by possibility.
Thanksgiving, at its best, reminds us of what endures. Gratitude does not ignore struggle; it illuminates what sustains us through it. And you through your service, your leadership, your compassion are among those sustaining forces in our communities and in our nation.
This year may gratitude become a grounding place for you.
May you find rest where the world has demanded too much.
May you rediscover joy where the days have felt heavy.
May you feel surrounded by the love of family, friends, and the community that stands with you.
And may you remember that your work is not only seen, but also deeply valued.
In moments when the headlines threaten to eclipse hope, know that your presence as a Black nurse remains an act of resistance, courage, conviction, and brilliance. You continue a legacy forged by those who persisted through storms far greater than their resources. You carry that torch forward with dignity, intellect, and grace.
As you sit at your tables some full, some quiet, some touched by loss, some overflowing with laughter I hope you feel affirmed in all that you do and encouraged by those around you. Let this holiday refill your spirit so that you may continue to lead, serve, and uplift from a place of renewed strength.
Thank you for all you do. Thank you for all you are.
Wishing you and yours a peaceful, restorative, and grace-filled Thanksgiving.
