4 wellness lessons that taught me [photo dump edition]:

Photo #1: The more time you spend with animals, the more you’ll learn about yourself. Doing Buffalo bathing was a perfect example of that. The Buffalo would let me know if it didn’t like how I was washing it by flashing it’s tail a little and getting me wet 😆 similar to what I would do if someone was doing something to do me that I didn’t like.

Photo #2 & #3: The freshness of the food in Chiang Mai is just unmatched and you see it in your body, your skin, your hair, everything just feels more luscious because of the freshness of the food. This makes me seek this same experience everywhere I go.

Photo #4: Your happiness in life is determined by how you experience the little things (walking in nature, being alone, walking barefoot, jumping in rice fields (haha), breathing, and spending time with animals)

Photo #5: Experiencing nature through touch is so important. It’s similar to eating your food with your hands. You get closer to whatever it is you’re experiencing (in my case it was pottery). It helps you to feel more grounded and challenges you to improve your hand steadiness.

Photo #6: Taking small moments to contemplate your experiences allows you to take them in even more. After my massage, I sat in contemplation sipping tea and allowed myself to relax and not run to the next thing so that my body can fully absorb the benefits of the massage. Sounds insignificant but it makes a huge difference.

What lessons have you learned on your travels?

Let’s talk about some of the benefits of the elements used in the Five Elements Bodywork at The Heart of the Earth Spa at in the order that they’re shown above in the photos.

1️⃣Photo #1- At the beginning of the treatment, agarwood 🪵 is ceremonially burned and the smoke helps to energize the body’s life force, balance the nervous system, and invoke a sense of strength.
2️⃣Photo #2 - Next, Earth 🌍 and water 💦 are addressed with a footbath of lemon, lemongrass, and mint leaves that works to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ground the body and mind.
3️⃣Photo #3 - As you’re enjoying the herbal foot bath, you can pour yourself some herbal tea 🫖 to experience more of the earth and water elements and look out to the lotus-filled lagoon to unwind
4️⃣Photo #4 - A gem-tipped metal tuning fork is used in the main treatment but I got the opportunity to feel the vibrations during my footbath. That subtle vibration helps to create inner well-being and help drift your body and mind into a state of peace.

Together, these elements cleanse your aura and bring you a sense of feeling renewed or feeling like new.

Working on yourself is a constant dance between going hard and knowing when it’s time to rest. Here are three tips for keeping your nervous system in check while creating discipline.

Location:

✅Honor how you feel despite what you think you should do
✅Keep going when you don’t feel like it but look for signs of burnout
✅Sleep and wake with the cycles of the earth (or as close to it as possible)

Following these simple tips will keep you feeling grounded all the time, your digestive and s*x organs will function better, and you’ll bounce back quickly from illness and injury.

Staying at was such a rejuvenating experience for and I. It showed us how darn tired (and burned out) we were and helped us to FULLY relax, beyond the level of relaxation that we were used to.

This literally forced us to take the rest our bodies needed at a time where we would normally just power through.

Now we feel like we can take on the world. Thank you 🙏🏽 we are forever grateful for your love and service to us.

People always say “take time to go inward” but what does that even mean?

Location:

It means…

Take time for silence

Take time for introspection

Take time to reflect on how you were, how you are, and how you could be

Try this exercise to make it easier…

Sit somewhere dark and cozy (I usually love going into a small closet and sitting on a yoga mat). Light a candle, take a deep breath and just stare at it for a little. Then take a break. Take 3 deep breaths then close your eyes for a short meditation. And then sit in silence for some time until you’re ready to continue in with your day.

[SWIPE LEFT] Have you ever heard of bitter melon?🤔

It tastes just like the name sounds—bitter 😖. But, the good news is, the more you have it, the less bitter it tastes.

At one point, it doesn’t even taste bitter anymore, and you actually start to taste the other parts of the plant (the pungent and crunchy parts). But that’s only when your palette has adjusted to the taste and you’ve balanced your sugar levels.

It’s good for:
1. Diabetics
2. People who deal with skin issues like acne, eczema, or psoriasis
3. Those dealing with disorders of the liver, or those who have intestinal worms, or anorexia
4. Those who are overweight, obese, or feel like their metabolism has slowed down

Life is a beautiful moment…

This is your reminder to not take nature 🌿 for granted anymore.

Get out the house, take a walk around your street or at a park, experience the plants, the flowers, the animals.

Last I checked, that doesn’t cost a thing but a few minutes of your time which you gladly give away to Instagram quite often (me too). 👀

There’s so much beauty around us that we often miss because we’re not present. Becoming more present is simple and cultivates an energetic quality within us called sattva which is where harmony, joy, intelligence, and purity lives.

Traveling and working remotely for the last 3 months have been pretty interesting and quite frankly hectic as hell. We’ve been to Bangkok, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai (all in Thailand), and now Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

So far, our favorite city (by far) is Chiang Mai, Thailand. The vibes are similar to Bali, Indonesia from what I’ve been told and the food almost never missed (can’t say the same about the other cities, although BKK wasn’t bad). I will share some of our favorite places to eat in each city at some point!

By the way, this picture was taken in Koh Samui in (love their one pieces) at the very end of 2 days of non-stop shooting. Can you tell I’m exhausted here? 😅

And if you’ve been wondering why we’ve suddenly decided to travel, we’re doing this for 3 reasons:
1. To save while the cost of living in the US skyrockets (the cost of living in Asia is much less)
2. To explore all that Asia has to offer when it comes to wellness, spirituality, and simple living and share it with you plus create more structured Ayurvedic content in Asia’s most beautiful locations such as courses and long, and short form content that can help you all heal
3. To eat cleaner foods (it became increasingly difficult to find 100% clean veggies, fruits, and water (without breaking the bank) in the US so being here has been sort of a relief for us especially when we’re staying in an apartment and cooking our own meals!

It’s been a lot of work even though it looks like all fun and games on IG 😂. and I truly appreciate your support as we venture through Southeast Asia learning, growing, exploring and showing you wellness first-hand from an eastern perspective. Stick around for the journey.💚

You ever wake up in the morning and not feel ready to eat for a few hours? This can mean several things:

• You had a heavier meal for dinner the night before
• The food hasn’t been digested well
• You had dinner late the night before (after sunset)
• There’s leftover acid in the stomach that’s preventing hunger
• Your digestive fire is low (weak agni)
• Your body has adapted to the routine of not eating breakfast, which ends up in you not feeling hungry after waking up

It’s really important to eat a light breakfast, even something as small as fruit will do because your body has been fasting all night and needs to wake up with the sun for optimal digestion throughout the day.

CCF tea with a little ginger slice is the perfect way to kindle agni in the mornings when you don’t feel hungry. It gives you a little detox so your stomach is empty and ready to do its job.

Save this post which includes the CCF tea recipe so you can use it whenever you decide to make CCF tea!

I believe that food is not just fuel for our bodies, but a vital source of nourishment for the mind and soul. That's why I was thrilled to discover ‘s Stay Farm that supplies a good portion of their produce to their restaurants especially . I was able to enjoy the freshest and most nutrient-dense foods, harvested straight from their on-property farm.

Not only did the food taste delicious, but it was also packed with health benefits that many people may not be aware of. For instance, fresh produce contains higher levels of antioxidants and vitamins than processed foods, and consuming food that's in season can support the body's natural detoxification process.

By prioritizing locally sourced, organic, and sustainably grown foods, we can not only support our own health and well-being but also contribute to a healthier planet. , I was able to indulge in nourishing foods while also connecting with nature and supporting a more sustainable way of living.
