To be part of a legacy as our first project under Soul Therapy Media is what makes us LOVE what we do.
March 28th was a truly unforgettable day for our client and our team. We had the honor of designing both the event and the photo exhibit for The Washington Informer's 60th Anniversary Celebration and Legacy Awards Gala.
The Washington Informer has been a cornerstone of culture in DC since 1964, the year after Dr. King’s March on Washington. Its founders, Dr. Calvin Rolark and Wilhelmina J. Rolark, were instrumental in organizing the March.
The legacy of the Informer, its publisher Denise Rolark Barnes, and the incredible impact they’ve made on the community could fill volumes. This is only the beginning of sharing the story behind this monumental event.
A special thank you to Denise for entrusting Soul Therapy Media with this powerful vision. Telling stories—especially those that carry so much weight and history—is a privilege we don't take lightly. It’s our responsibility to ensure these stories are shared authentically, powerfully, and with soul.
They say when you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. Designing, planning, and producing the gala and anniversary photo exhibit was nothing short of a JOY.
This project was no small feat, completed in just four months. The success of this event wouldn’t have been possible without the stellar team behind it. Huge thanks to Adriane Alfred, M.I.M., Dominiqua Eldridge, and Gina Mayo for your dedication and contributions that helped make this experience unforgettable for the client, sponsors, and guests. We’re also deeply grateful to all the talented vendors and volunteers who lent their time and expertise—we couldn’t have done it without you.
Our mission is clear: every client we work with, every life we touch, and every project we complete should feel like therapy for the soul and bring JOY. Based on the feedback from everyone who attended the Informer’s Anniversary Celebration, it’s safe to say: mission accomplished.
More to come...
