Take a listen to my beautiful Hailey Wilson and her incredible insight at 25 years old. I wish I knew what she knows now when I was I was her age.

Keep listening until the very end as she eases her way into the second half of the podcast with some incredible realizations and suggestions on how to live your life comfortably authentic.

My favorite part is when she talks about how “people are going to judge regardless of what you do and who you are, so why not just be you? Unapoligetically!”

Love it. I’m so proud of the woman she has become. I’m her mom but I’ve learned more from her on this journey than I could’ve ever taught her in my lifetime.

“You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.” -Dr. Seuss

Life is truly a balancing act. I ground myself in gratitude for the people in my life who support me in living out my passions and making my dreams come true.

“The tiny seed knew that in order to grow it needed to be dropped in dirt, covered in darkness, and struggle to reach the light.”
- Sandra Kring

There's just something about seeing things grow, about seeing them sprout up from seemingly nowhere at all. I just threw a seed in one of the cinder blocks at The Haven Garden and it sprouted and began to grow taller and thicker each day.

It got my attention, and I became more interested as the days passed.

I took this weekend off because I’ve been working 7 days a week but something kept telling me to swing by the studio. Now I know why! The nurturing and love I gave this sunflower contributed to the end result.

I encourage you to plant seeds every single day, in the world and in others, with every thought you think and word you speak and action you take. You have influence.

Just like a garden needs its rain and sunlight and weeding, your relationships need to be tended... by YOU. The things you want to change and improve need commitment... from YOU.

Tomorrow, I begin my 2nd week of no sugar and no alcohol and I can’t even begin to tell you the benefits I’ve already received.

Just as I nurture this 🌻, I simultaneously take care of myself in a way that prepares me for some pretty incredible changes happening in my life.

If you are interested in joining the 5 am club, DM me and I’ll give you more details.

P.S. Come by garden to check out the sunflower!

We as a society tend to put a lot of time and energy in making commitments to ourselves and others.

Responsibilities are good however over committing can be counter productive.

What would it look like for you today to set your intentions not just to be able to check them off your list, but for the purpose of showing up exactly as you are today and in this moment?

Notice the difference and share your experience.

Ironically, this picture popped up today on my iPhone memories. This was taken 10 years ago.

The time and circumstances were different, however the feelings were eerily similar to how I’ve been feeling lately.

Uncomfortable in my skin yet determined.

Unsure, yet intentional with my actions.

This morning I prayed and I vowed to myself and a power greater than I that I was going to be very specific and intentional with my actions.

I’m relieved and proud to say that I kept my word to myself and to those who are participating in accountability group.

Whether you know it or not, you all inspired me to keep my word.

I completed 5 miles of walking.

I showed up and survived Power Yoga class.

And rewarded myself with an incredible Yin class.

I ate exactly what I said I would and never even had a thought to deviate from my plan.

My intentions kept me anchored. The vow I made kept me focused.

Today I did my best in everything I set out to do today. That’s all I can promise.

I encourage you all to do the same.

My 5 miles may be your 15 minutes. It’s not about the distance or time. It’s about the intention.

Show up and do your best! 🏆

P.S. This post admittedly written from an Epsom Salt bath. 🛀

Today, I commit to walking 5 miles, one power flow and one yin class.
I will drink 8 glasses of water and consume protein shakes, vegetables and fruit only today.

Just for today, I am specific and deliberate with my goals. Today is different than yesterday. Tomorrow will be different than today. I embrace doing the best I can with what I’ve set out to do for today.

What is one goal you are setting for yourself today?

Remember, your goal is not my goal. Mine is not yours.

You do you boo! 😊

I have been working so hard on my personal growth between my ears and in my heart over the past 12 months that I lost track of my physical health.

I haven’t stepped on the scale in a year until today and I am 15 lbs heavier than I was last year!

Today, I declare finding the balance between my physical and mental well-being.

I allowed today to be my last hoorah as far as food is concerned. Today, walked 10.5 miles and had the most beautiful day ever with friends .r.cooper and meeting me along different stretches of my walk.

Then I came home and my son asked if I’d walk with him. How could I say no?

So today I clocked 12 miles. I’m committing to walking 6-10 miles each day and eating clean beginning tomorrow.

If anyone would like to join me in forming a fitness accountability group, please follow and I’ll begin posting anything related to this tomorrow.

I have goals and I know I can achieve them but I don’t want to do it alone. I need support and I’m finally comfortable asking for it, and happy to offer others my help.

Although I feel good about who I am as a person, I’m super uncomfortable in my body with this extra weight I am carrying.

Join me in this journey by following and let’s make a commitment to ourselves to always grow and live our best lives ever!

I turned to yoga, meditation and energy healing years ago in order to heal my body of a debilitating auto immune disease.

As I began my healing journey, I learned that stress contributed to many of my symptoms and amplified my negative mindset.

I was in so much pain, and honestly not sure if I would ever feel better until I began my personal growth and development journey.

Four years ago, I decided that I had enough. I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Through the practices of yoga, meditation and reiki, I realized that I had the power within to change my life.

I’m not sure where I would be if it weren’t for all the chance happenings that led me down this road, but I do know that they saved my life.

I am a walking testimony for the combined power of these healing practices. As a result, I feel compelled to give back.

If you are interested in improving the quality of your life, please call to learn more about how can help you.

Curiosity did NOT kill the cat! 🐱

At least that was my experience. I am now a self proclaimed Lioness! 🦁

My personal growth journey began with curiosity after many unhealthy and failed relationships, financial struggles, health issues and more.

Personally, I was sick and tired of doing the same thing over again, and getting the same results.

My curiosity was peaked by self help groups, books, workshops etc. , all of which led me to where I am today in my faith and spirituality.

Since opening Steppingstone Haven Yoga & Spiritual Sanctuary, I am asked often...

“What is the difference between "spirituality" and "faith".

Faith is an internal feeling , a sense and belief that there is "something more."

Spirituality represents the effort to identify what that "something more" might be.

Spirituality results when one's faith has been activated.

For 2021, one of my personal goals is to activate my faith even more.

I am nurturing a better relationship with myself and my Higher Power (whom I choose to call God), with those around me, my colleagues, my new business, my clients and the value of the services I provide.

I have vowed to be more vulnerable and true to myself when asking others for the value of what I offer as an individual and as the owner of Steppingstone Haven Yoga & Spiritual Haven.

There are days I feel like I’m walking alone in this until I receive beautiful notes or calls (like one I received this morning) saying what “The Yoga & Spiritual Haven” has done for them.

It is then I am reminded of my purpose, and the passion that fuels the fire during those lonely days of being a small business owner.

We’ve made it through Covid thus far as a new business (since February 2020). I gave a lot away because I knew people needed our services more than ever before.

What I’ve received in return in friendships, personal growth, strength and support is immense.

After visiting my accountant this week, and taking a true assessment of this year, I have a clear picture of what my goals are for 2021 related to the studio.

I am floored by what the Steppingstone Haven team, friends, collaborators, and clients have helped me accomplish in the midst of of such uncertainty.

I am grateful!

I’ve am reminded that I am in fact, not alone. I recognize that the only way I can sustain my “passion project” is by understanding the VALUE” of the personal development services and tools we provide at Steppingstone Haven, and not being afraid to ask for it.

In 2021, we are raising our vibrations even higher! We are soaring financially so we can invest more into creating a safe space and spiritual sanctuary for personal growth and development offerings.

We ARE now Simpsonville’s official YOGA & SPIRITUAL SANCTUARY!

The year of 2021 is one of abundance in personal and financial achievements for all!

Our goal is to serve the “curious cats” with a like-minded community of Simpsonville who are looking to be “change-makers” - utilizing personal growth tools and services that will reverberate beyond our little city and state - through our country, and around the world!

We can support you in embarking upon your next level of personal growth, development and consciousness.

If anyone is curious about the “who”, “what” and “why” of Steppingstone Haven Yoga & Spiritual Sanctuary, and would like to learn how to achieve a happier and more peaceful life through the practices of yoga, meditation, breathwork and coaching, put a “BOOM!💥 “ in the comments.

I will send you an invitation for a monthly group “Virtual Haven” Zoom call for like-minded individuals who are interested in raising the vibrations around them for a healthy, peaceful and abundant lifestyle.

I’m beyond excited and CURIOUS to see what 2021 will present us! We’ve got this! We’re in this together. And remember...

In 2021, I’m not just setting goals and intentions. I’m making specific vows to myself, family, and friends related to financial health, physical health, mental health, and better business and career health.

In the month of January, I will share my specific vows, and how I set intentions of taking baby steps to achieve my goals for the new year.

It’s not just about the intentions we set. It’s about the commitment we make to ourselves and the universe to achieve them. It’s about taking action and making sh #% happen!

Because if I’m a better person, my family, my friends and those who cross my path are better too.

What vows are you taking in 2021?*

Day 10 of “The Journey Back to Self - There’s Light at The End of the Self-Care Tunnel”

In my 10 minutes today, I held myself accountable...

I set my specific goals for the day.

I wrote them down in the present moment. As if they already exist.

I identified the feelings attached to the goals - how I feel as I accomplish them.

I drank lemon water and honey. - I feel healthy.

I did a 9 minute meditation. - I feel at peace.

I wrote in my gratitude journal. - I feel grateful.

I deflected the innate desire to skip the gym but went any way. I only intended to walk on the treadmill for 30 min.

I did forty minutes on the treadmill at a 6 % grade at 3.5 mph covering 2.25 miles. - I feel better than I did when I was trying to find excuses not to go to the gym.

I did 10 push ups
15 sit ups
And 15 air squats
- I feel strong.

My 10 minutes turned into 2 and a half hours.

-I feel motivated.
-I feel hopeful.
- I feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Where will your 10 minutes of “The Journey Back to Self” take you?

Day 9 of “The Journey Back to Self - We’re All In This Together”

There’s not much to say except each and every one of us has endured challenging times before the pandemic, and we continue to currently walk through adversity.

The best part about it is that we have choices how we walk through life.

I choose to walk as a family.

Although we are missing my parents this holiday, we are grateful they are safe and healthy.

Life as we know it has been disrupted.

I choose to see the good in it despite the inconveniences of it all.

As much as I want to hibernate, I choose to walk through it with others.

I am grateful for my family and my friends.

I am stronger because of them.

I am inspired by the examples they set.

Their strength is admirable.

I see them, and recognize that we are all in this together.

I wouldn’t want it any other way.

In your 10 minutes of self-care, are you content with how you’re walking through these times?

“Day 8 of “The Journey Back to Self - Living IN the Goal”

I took my 10 minutes of self-care today to take a look at the goals and intentions I am setting for 2021.

How many lofty goals have you set for yourself with tremendous intention saying “I’m going to...(fill in whatever you said your going to do, accomplish or change)?

Guilty as charged!

After many failed attempts towards “New Year’s Resolutions”, I began to reflect year over year why I wasn’t attaining my well intentioned “wishes”.

It was because they were just wishes.

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” - Michael Jordan

My dad would say, “Theres no such thing as a good try”, which I never understood until I began my personal growth journey.

There’s so much more to goal setting for the new year or new seasons of life.

It starts with how we speak of our goals.

It begins with our choice of words as we describe our “wishes”.

It is all about the tense we use.

Speak as if it’s already happening.

I’ve looked back in journals years ago where I’ve set specific goals. The goals I attained were the ones I spoke in present tense.

For example, when I was faced with divorce and bankruptcy, my journal entry read:

1. “I “need” to get my significant other sober and back on track so we can be happy.”

2. “I need to pay off all my debt so I don’t have to worry about finances.”

Holy crap! No wonder I was stuck in my marriage and broke for way longer than I needed to be!

I was wishing from a space of “lack”.

Today, I speak from a place of abundance. I speak as if I’m already IN the solution and the desired state.

For example, today I speak of my desires so differently...

1. It is 1/1/21. I am an active participant in all my relationships. I am vulnerable in my requests of what I want, yet I set boundaries. My relationships are filled with respect, love, honesty and have set boundaries. Since attaining this goal, I am more confident and have less worry. I have no worries about the toxic people affecting my life. I am free.

2. It is 6/1/21. I am financially responsible. My relationship with money has firm boundaries. My debt is paid off. I am able to make financial decisions freely because I am in a good financial state of affairs. This brings me peace daily and aligns with other aspects of my life.

The years I spoke of things from a place of need and lack, I didn’t attain my goals.

The years I spoke as if I were IN it, those were the years I attained it!

Although your brain isn't a true “muscle,” it does function in a similar way to your body's muscles.

Train it with your words.

TAKE 10 minutes today to:

Speak favor over your desired life.

Visualize your goals. (Visualization leads to manifestation.)

Speak as if you’re in IN it.

And eventually, you will find yourself LIVING it!
