✨ Lost&Found 2026 Words of the Year ✨

As we move into 2026, two words are guiding our work: collaboration and sustainability.

In a landscape that continues to shift and feel unpredictable, we’re focused on building an organization that is strong, steady, and able to continue delivering meaningful programming and needed services now and into the future. Sustainability helps ensure this work can continue with intention and care.

At the same time, we know this work isn’t meant to be done alone. Collaboration allows us to learn from others, work together more effectively, and reach more people in ways that truly matter.

We’d love to hear from you. What word (or words) are guiding you in 2026?

It’s New Year’s Eve and the final hours of Resilience Champions.

As the year comes to a close, so does our Resilience Champions campaign. Donations are still being matched, making this a meaningful moment to give.

Your support fuels Lost&Found’s mission and the work that helps communities better understand mental health, respond earlier, and build stronger systems of support.

There’s still time to make a year-end gift before midnight: givebutter.com/rc-2025

✨Thank you to everyone who has already supported this work.

✨ Happy Holidays from Lost&Found!✨

The holidays look different for everyone. Whether you're celebrating, resting, reconnecting, or simply getting through, we’re wishing you peace, care, and moments of joy in whatever ways are meaningful to you.

This time of year reminds us how grateful we are for the students, mentors, campus partners, benefactors, and community members who make our work possible. Your commitment to connection, mental health support, and resilience-building creates brighter futures for young adults across our region.

Thank you for being part of this community and for helping ensure no young adult feels alone in their struggles.

Recently, Lost&Found trainers Lana Loken and Carrie Jorgensen facilitated a Mental Health First Aid training for 20 staff members at South Dakota State University.💙

The session, hosted by the Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center, focused on equipping staff with the tools to recognize, understand, and respond to mental health challenges among students and their campus community.

We’re grateful for partners like SDSU who are committed to creating supportive, resilient campus environments. ✨

Our Resilience Champions campaign has been extended through the end of the year, and now is the perfect time to make an impact.✨

Thanks to a generous supporter, all gifts will be matched up to $5,000 through December 31.

Today, we’re honored to share a message from Janine Harris, who speaks to why this work matters and how resilience-building supports young adults across our region.

🌟 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬🌟

We’re excited to feature Kyle Jones, one of Lost&Found’s dedicated Community Prevention Advisors, serving our West River communities.

Kyle plays a key role in supporting campuses and community partners as they strengthen resilience and expand su***de prevention efforts. His thoughtful approach, steady leadership, and passion for helping young adults thrive make him an incredible asset to the Lost&Found team.

When he’s not building relationships and supporting prevention work, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family outdoors. One of his favorite activities is driving through the beautiful Spearfish Canyon and hiking in the Black Hills with his wife, Daniele, and their three imaginative kiddos—Lilliana, Arabella, and Gideon.

And fun fact: Kyle is a big horror movie fan! His favorite? A Haunting in Connecticut. 👻

We’re grateful for everything Kyle brings to Lost&Found and the communities he serves. Help us show him some appreciation! 🧡✨

When students feel connected, supported, and seen, everything changes.

That’s why our campus programs remain the heart of Lost&Found and why we’re so proud to share the impact they’ve made in 2025:

📚 154 chapter events filled with community and conversation
👥 3,778 students reached through meaningful programming
🤝 370 staff/mentor check-ins offering guidance and care
💬 357 mentor/mentee meet-ups building resilience through peer support

These touchpoints create belonging.
Belonging creates resilience.
And resilience saves lives.

Thank you to our students, mentors, campus partners, and supporters for making this possible. ✨
