What is Perimenopause and what is Menopause? What happens when estrogen leaves the building and our hormones are fluctuating? What are we supposed to do to help our body adjust smoothly and in a healthy way? Why the heck do we lose our words? These naturopathic functional medicine physicians explain so much of the mystery!
Some of my take-aways:
We require a lot more protein and lifting heavy weights.
Here's one hack I just learned.
Post exercise, women 45+ don't handle carbs as well after our cycle changes or ceases, our metabolism shifts, so we need to replenish that protein within 60 minutes and we need 40-60 grams!
Estrogen increases collagen production, so our skin, hair and eyes start to dry, wrinkle.
There are 300 symptoms we get to experience in menopause. But our body isn't failing us, it's just shifting.

My name is Raquel Vice. I am a full time REALTOR with The Veliz-Vice Team of Century 21 Advantage since 2004, and as of February 2020, started a side hustle as an Independent Consultant with Arbonne. I live in Smithton. I have a very funny and ambitious fiance’, and 2 wonderful sons ages 19 and 25.
I have been using Arbonne for a little over a year. At that time in my life I was becoming more aware of the importance of Clean Eating and the 30 Days to Healthy Living program seemed like the perfect way to get me going in the right direction. I have always been pretty good at eating healthy, but there were times as an on the go Realtor that I would just grab the closest snack or fast food, scarf it down, then feel like junk for hours afterward. This program helped me by giving me everything I needed to truly eat clean for 30 days straight. It also helped me see how red meat and dairy affect the way I feel. In the Kit you get protein mixes, fizz sticks, fiber boost, digestion plus, detox tea and your choice of either the body cleanse or the greens balance. In addition to that, you get 4 weeks of meal plans with the grocery lists for each week, shake recipes, snack suggestions, and loads of information. I loved that it all came in a binder that I could browse through and reference whenever I had questions. If I couldn’t find the answers, I got on the Facebook group to see what others doing the 30 days were doing, or I would get ahold of my coach! I still have that binder and I continue making the recipes here and there, I am smarter about ingredients and snack choices and I use the nutrition products even though the 30 days had ended. I actually started the 30 day program again about 22 days ago, but this time, I am doing the vegan recipes! Yes, there is a meal plan for vegans or wanna be vegans. In the end you will have a healthier gut (which equals a stronger immune system), less toxins in your body and you will know how certain foods affect you.
So why did I become a consultant?
Initially I thought, why not?? I use the products every day. I believe in them. I trust that they are pure, safe and beneficial. I like sharing them with others anyway! Why not get them at a more discounted price??? It just made sense.
I also thought, heck, if I end up making money at this, it would get me closer to my goal of having 7 sources of income. Which is something my mom has always said.
And I also knew that it would force me to learn more about clean products, clean ingredients and healthy living and connect me with like-minded people. Arbonne and my team leaders have totally blown away my expectations. Once I dug into all of the resources that are available to IC’s and started watching the videos, joining in on training calls, the Facebook groups, the group chats and even the book clubs, I realized this company is really more amazing than I thought. It is helping me become better at healthy living AND at running a business. Not just this Arbonne business, but real estate too! And I’m positive it can be applied to any other businesses.
So that is my story. I strive to live healthy and Arbonne helps me with that every day! I appreciate you reading through this and liking/following my page. I hope you enjoy it and learn a few things!
