Ball is seeking the honored position of General Sessions Judge in DeKalb County, Tennessee. Ball continues to receive recognition from the Tennessee Supreme Court for her dedication, hard work, and pro bono services to the community. She vows to uphold the Constitution of this great State and County, while preventing government overreach. Ball firmly believes, “each and every person in court, without exception, deserves the opportunity to be treated with respect and without discrimination or bias.”

Mingy K. Ball believes that together, we can make our community a better place by creating a mentor ship program for our children and expanding Drug Court Outreach Programs for minors and adults. Ball is a licensed attorney in the state of Tennessee. She is licensed to practice law in the Middle District of the U.S. Federal Court and currently practicing at the Federal, State, and County level. Combined, she has more than twenty years of experience working with the Department of Children’s Services, the Juvenile Court, and the General Sessions Court. Since 2012, she has owned and operated a successful law practice in her hometown of Smithville. She was the President of the Dekalb County Republic Party for two terms and President of the Dekalb County GOP Women’s Club for four terms. She is a long-standing member of the Tennessee Bar Association and an active member of several boards within the community. Ball is married to Johnny D. Ball works at Dekalb Medical Clinic where he serves our community. Together, they have five sons: Scotty (Nicole) Colwell is a Veteran of the United States Air Force, works for the State of Tennessee, and is currently in his last year of law school. Justin (Morgan) Colwell is a law enforcement officer for the McMinnville Police Department and currently in his first year of law school. Lance (Harlli) Ball has a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University in Agriculture Engineering and currently works for Robert’s Ice. Lane (Haley) Ball is a law enforcement officer for the Smithville Police Department. Nathan (Emily) Colwell works for the water department at Tennessee Technological University where he is also a full-time student seeking a dual bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology. Johnny and Mingy Ball have 6 grandchildren.
