✨🌹 Nearly a century ago, someone sat with silk thread in hand, carefully stitching this rose petal by petal, leaf by leaf… until beauty bloomed from linen. ✨

This 1930s antique embroidery is a tiny piece of history — handmade with shimmering silk thread, scalloped edges, and the kind of patience we rarely see today. 🌿

It’s so stunning! It’s frameable art, a love letter in stitches from another era.

Wouldn’t you love to imagine the hands that created it, the quiet evenings, the soft lamplight? 🕯️

I found this today — and what a treasure! ✨
This Art Nouveau face powder tin is a miniature work of art, with its flowing curves, roses, and dreamy colors still shining more than a century later. 🌸

Did you know the Art Nouveau movement (1890s–1910s) even helped inspire the swirling, colorful psychedelic art of the 1960s? 🌈 Everyday beauty objects like this carried forward into whole new waves of art and imagination.

And in my next podcast, we’ll be touching on the ’60s as we trace the fascinating history of the paisley shape. 🎙️ I hope you’ll listen in! 💫

✨ Do you have a favorite everyday object from the past that feels like a work of art? I’d love to hear about it in the comments! ✨

✨ Civil War Era Beauty ✨

Fresh into the shop: an 1860s oval gilt gesso frame with its original Victorian landscape painting still intact. 🌿🏠 A romantic riverside cottage scene, hand-painted in soft watercolor, framed in that iconic mid-19th century gold with red bole peeking through.

This piece has all the charm of the Civil War era parlor — sentimental, romantic, and richly decorative. Whether you collect antique frames or just love a glimpse into Victorian life, this one’s a stunner.

📚 A Treasure from 1650

Fresh out of Wonderland’s trove, this tiny book has survived almost 375 years. Printed in Copenhagen in 1650 by Melchior Winckler, it is Nicolai Heldvad’s Formulæ-Bog: a curious mix of phrasebook, etiquette guide, and moral handbook.

Inside, Heldvad teaches young courtiers how to speak Latin, German, French, and Italian… while also warning them of the “splendid misery” of life at court. 🏰✨

But what makes this copy truly special?
Tucked into the flyleaf is a handwritten prayer, likely late 17th century, a parent writing of their son at Løsthold and “eight years of streams of hardships.” Imagine the voices of the past, whispering through the margins.

📖 Rare. Scarce. Full of soul.

This early 20th-century wax bo***ir doll is dressed in her original finery — sequined lace gown, velvet shawl, pearls, and a dainty fan in hand. Her auburn mohair hair is styled in an elegant updo, framing her delicately painted wax features.

Bo***ir dolls like this were never meant for play, they were decorative companions for fashionable women, reclining on vanities and fainting couches as a symbol of glamour.

What makes this example truly rare is her presentation: she is mounted on an original Cartier-Bresson Paris box, a collectible French haberdashery brand known for couture packaging. Together, doll and box create a display piece that’s both hauntingly beautiful and historically important.

✨ Comparable examples of bo***ir and wax dolls can be found in museum collections and high-end auctions — making this piece a rare opportunity for collectors.

A special find for advanced collectors of antique dolls, wax dolls, or bo***ir dolls.
