Do you know how change happens? I feel like we’re taught to muscle thru and force ourselves into a new habit, and if it doesn’t work, it’s cus we’re bad at stuff.
But the thing is, that’s not how change works in the first place.
Change can happen incredibly quickly, but it has to start by lighting up the brain state from the last time something happened that you want to change. From that specific state of mind, it’s just a couple tweaks to get your brain to try out a new neural pathway and create the potential of doing things differently.
There’s several change strategies that do this, such as some types of somatic coaching, emdr and hypnosis.
The bottom line is this: if you can’t make the changes you want to, YET… don’t keep trying something that isn’t working for you - look around for something else.
