Empowering you to live your most authentic, mindful, connected, full life. Welcome, beautiful friends! My name is Elana, and I am a multi-passionate, energetic, curious soul, lover & student of life. I have had a lifelong interest in all things holistic health & wellness, and growing up as a dancer, movement has always been integral to my life. I have practiced yoga for over 10 years, and became an RYT200 certified Hatha/Vinyasa teacher in October 2019. I believe the universal principle of balance can be applied to everything, especially in the balance of a healthy, mindful life, and a free-spirited zesty embrace for all faces of it. My ultimate desire is to inspire you to embrace this idea and guide you toward reconnecting with your inner wisdom so you can live your most authentic life. In my yoga classes, I encourage you to explore, have fun, and listen to your unique body and breath. You will be invited to both challenge your limits, and find space to surrender and love exactly where you're at. I love introducing people to what yoga is really all about (hint: it's not just Asana) and sharing practices that will help you live your most intentional, authentic, connected, and full life. My current main offerings are virtual yoga classes, meditations & breathwork tutorials, mindful & conscious living tips & resources. FEED YOUR SPIRIT & HELP US FEED OTHERS!

Just one week from today... the Summer Yoga Benefit Series kicks off right where the magic happens at our homebase in Forestville, overlooking our beautiful organic gardens.

I've been working hard for the last few months putting together this event, which will raise money to bring food, comprehensive nutrition services, healing and love 💚 to our Sonoma County neighbors living with serious medical conditions or at risk of malnutrition.

In case you're new around here, Food For Thought’s mission is to foster health and healing with food and compassion. We fulfill this by supplying more than 300,000 meals per year at no charge to more than 6,000 qualified clients who are living with serious medical conditions or at risk of malnutrition across Sonoma County. Our services eliminate food insecurity, reduce hospital visits and medical expenses, and improve our clients’ health and quality of life.

Update: Life has gotten very full lately (in all the best ways!), and since march, I've had to put a pause on teaching online classes. Part of me is really bummed about this, and sorry to my long-time regulars that i cant currently hold this space for you... but also, I'm really enjoying life offline. The tech realm and content creation was burning me out yall!

One day when it makes sense again, I'm sure I'll be back more regularly. BUT FOR NOW, if you're local in Sonoma County, heres what ive got for you:

1. Catch my classes at Crunch fitness in santa rosa on Monday nights at 6pm (super cheap for a gym membership there!!) + ocassional Saturday mornings
2. This summer I'm putting on a yoga series benefiting at various wineries and farms across the county. Can't wait for these outdoor, in-person classes!!! Please check out the schedule at the link in my bio 🌞💛🌻

Join me for yoga class this Sunday morning inspired by one of my teachers of mindfulness, and one of the greatest champions for peace, nonviolence, and compassion the world has known, Thich Nhat Hanh.

He has given me some of the simplest yet most profound tools I've used to manage anxiety and put life into perspective.

"What you are looking for is already in you..."

"Breathing in, I know that I am breathing in. Breathing out, I know that I am breathing out."

Setting new year's resolutions or goals for the future are great and can be so expansive, but how about making the intention to live more in the Now?

Imagine attending to one act or thing in such a way that our awareness of it expands and we become fully anchored in the present moment and fully available to the object of our attention.

In yoga classes, I like to ask my students - How does the quality of your attention affect the quality of your experience?

This year, my heart-wish and invitation to you is to bring your awareness back to the now moment as often as possible.

Witness how this changes your life. It has surely changed mine more profoundly than I can put words to. It has helped me deal with all kinds of struggles, on the level of my humanly heartaches to the level of existential crises in the face of climate change and world suffering. Practicing presence has not only helped me reduce anxiety and pain, but it has allowed me to actually expand my capacity for joy.

The present moment is all we really have. And you know the miraculous thing about that? It has never existed before, and it will never exist again exactly as it is. And therefore there is no moment more important and more beautiful than this one right now - so I hope you cherish it each and every day this year.

Happy Now Year to you, dear soul!

This time of year, I like to focus a little extra on Gratitude. So I want to share something I learned from a wonderful friend and coach Jonathan Kiely.

What does it mean to be grateful?

It is about focusing on what we do have rather than what we don’t have, focusing on the abundance rather than the lack. And as Jonathan puts it, “Let’s replace expectations with appreciations.”

Here is a Gratefulness exercise that he taught me to help us understand the complexity of life and realize that for every challenge, there is also an opportunity.

Thorns, Buds, Blooms:

📌 The Thorn: What is the pain, struggle, challenge in my life right now?

🌹 The Bud: What is the opportunity? What can be learned from this situation? What can grow from this place?

💐 The Bloom: What is something beautiful that can blossom (or has blossomed) from this thorn or bud?

Hello friends! My name is Elana, and I am passionate about yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and all things holistic health & wellness. I have practiced yoga for over 10 years, and am an RYT200 certified Hatha/Vinyasa teacher. I have had a strong interest in health, happiness, and positive psychology for as long as I can remember, and work hard to embody what I believe. I love introducing others to this world of life-transforming knowledge, helping people get re-connected to their authentic selves, and learn the practices to live their best lives!
