Fragmentation

Why people feel scattered, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

Fragmentation usually shows up long before we catch it. For me, it starts with scattered thoughts, tension in my neck and shoulders, and impatience. Many may feel it as being overwhelmed, burnt out, low on energy, or physical discomfort.

A lot of this is influenced by modern life. Stressful narratives, constant notifications, and nonstop input keep the nervous system on alert. It fragments our attention and pulls us out of our center before we even notice.

And when that happens, most people do the things that make it worse: comfort food, skipping the practices that help, or trying to push harder to “pull it together.”

The way back is simple: pause, check whether your basic needs are met, breathe in a way that settles you, and get a clearer perspective on what’s actually happening.

Fragmentation is a signal that your system is overwhelmed and out of rhythm, not a personal failure.

My work is helping people restore coherence in body, mind, and spirit, so their energy stops leaking and they can return to a centered, grounded place.

If you relate to this, a Vitality Session can help reset your system.

Constant stress lowers the body's resilience, making symptoms of illness more likely to arise...

In our modern world our nervous systems are bombarded with stress.

When our stress response is constantly triggered, healing takes a back seat

Managing stress is key to restoring balance and supporting the body's natural healing abilities.

Keys to reduce stress and improve healing:

► Identify your main stressors.

► Reduce what you can.

► Make time daily for de-stressing.

► Prioritize nutrition, hydration, breathing, and sleep to boost resilience.

Why I choose to use the term “Holistic”… 🌸

The term “holistic” is thrown around by so many these days, but often it’s not used in its true sense. It has become a diluted and overused term. Many use it to describe alternative therapeutic methods or anything outside the mainstream approach. While these methods can be useful, they often don’t address the whole person or get to the source of pain or illness.

A truly Holistic approach considers the Body, Mind, and Spirit. It looks at symptoms as an expression of a deeper issue.

Through a Holistic approach, we address the WHOLE person and develop a strategy that brings them into natural balance, allowing their innate healing abilities to restore and sustain their health, vitality, and well-being.

Without looking at the whole of a person, we risk missing what’s driving a condition and may only find temporary relief or even influence other forms of symptom and compensation.

By using a Holistic approach, I look at the whole picture by assessing a person’s lifestyle, nutrition, stress, biomechanics, and mental/emotional state. I then identify patterns presented through the interconnected aspects of the individual and trace symptoms to their source. I then tailor a holistic approach to bring the Body, Mind, and Spirit into a harmonious expression of well-being.

The CHEK Totem Pole is a holistic model developed by Paul Chek to help understand the body’s survival hierarchy. It’s based on the idea that different systems in the body contribute to overall health, but certain systems take priority when it comes to survival. When dysfunction occurs at higher levels of the Totem Pole, it cascades downward, affecting other parts of the body. By addressing imbalances at these levels, we can create more sustainable health.

1. Psyche (Emotions & Thoughts): Our mental and emotional well-being holds the most influence. Stress or trauma can show up as physical imbalances, influencing posture, breathing, and even organ function.

2. Breathing: Improper breathing patterns, often triggered by stress or poor posture, can have a ripple effect on the entire body.

3. Mastication (Jaw Function): Misalignments in the jaw lead to headaches, tension, and digestive issues.

4. Vision & Balance: Poor eyesight or balance creates compensation, causing musculoskeletal issues.

5. Hearing: Auditory imbalances can cause postural problems.

6. Upper Cervical Spine: Misalignments affect the entire body, including breathing and movement.

7. Organs & Glands: Stress impacts organ function, leading to fatigue.

8. Emotions: Emotions are deeply connected with the psyche and can override the whole system.

9. Sacrum: The “sacred” bone connecting the upper and lower body is the foundation for movement.

10. Limbs & Joints: Issues here often reflect dysfunctions above.

CHEK Practitioners are trained to assess all systems of the Totem Pole. By starting at the top and working downward, we are able to focus on treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. This holistic approach ensures that the true underlying causes of dysfunction are addressed, leading to deeper, more lasting health improvements.

You may have gone from doctor to doctor looking for a solution to your illness or disease, but have you considered prioritizing the foundational principles that create health in the first place? ⛰️

Breathing • Thinking • MovementNutrition • Hydration • Sleep

The 6 Foundation Principles are the soil in which we grow our health and support our well-being. They create a framework to build a healthy lifestyle

Our body and mind know how to create health, so long as we support the foundations needed in doing so.

* Understand your 6 foundational needs for the life you live or want to live

* Develop healthy habits so regulation becomes automatic

* Set reminders on your phone to bring focus back to self-management

* When feeling out of balance, reflect on which principle(s) need your attention

When the 6 Foundation Principles go unacknowledged, our health will likely suffer.

By bringing awareness to our needs, we become empowered to put our health back in our own hands.
