This intricate sculpture belongs to "Inez Daughter of J.N. & M.C. Clarke" who died in 1880. There are some interesting legeneds to this grave with some claiming that the statue is haunted and during thunder storms the little girl will disappear from the glass case. Although these ghost stories are untrue, the real story of the little girl, whose real name is Inez Briggs, has been thoroughly researched by family historians. Great story on "Little Canada" communities! They contributed more than you realize! A prime example is
St. Francis Xavier in Winooski VT!!

New England has been home to dozens of Little Canadas for centuries, but their contribution to the region's history and culture are often overlooked.
