Yep, that is me, a smiling kid who got to spend a ton of time in his imagination and I am still a smiling kid who spends a lot of time in his imagination because I am not interested in being anyone else.
The root of just about all mental health issues in life is when we are not being true to ourselves and when we try to live someone else’s life, thinking we are not worthy of our own.
But still we hide behind insecurities and fears because IT TAKES EFFORT TO BE REAL.
It is challenging to stay authentic.
I continue to work on it too…
It takes a ton of work to learn all the things about the REAL YOU, dark and light, to change your stories and fulfill your purpose.
But the longer you go NOT being who you are, the more fears and BS stories pile up between you and your happiness.
So BE REAL.
BE YOU.
Today.
Please?
There is only one of you.

No matter what you studied in college, you are probably interested in psychology.
You love psychology because you get to learn about your own existence, which proves to you that YOU MATTER in the world.
Like there is a REASON THAT YOU EXIST.
It makes you feel like you belong.
BUT life gets in the way and you compare yourself to others, and your sense of value gradually declines as you grow up…
Your value never left, though.
It’s still there inside you. YOU ARE JUST NOT EXPRESSING IT.

Self-reflection is like cave diving.
For one thing, you cannot see what is inside the cave from the surface, there are definitely risks involved with diving in, and you have to make sure you are safe getting out.
On the other hand, though, there is immense unique beauty to be found in the cave that can bring you such tranquility and empowerment.
To take the plunge, you must have a support team of some kind on the surface as well as the mental “gear” to keep yourself feeling safe during the expedition.
So many people are scared to deeply self-reflect because they don’t know what they will find or if they will be able to get themselves back out of it.
It is helpful to remember that it is YOUR CAVE we are talking about, so there is always a way out if you want there to be.

Today is July 3rd, which means tomorrow is July 4th (Yay 'Merica!), which means it's July, which means a ton of summer weddings are happening.
