Highlights from my last three certification courses!

It was such an honor to train
(variety of departments)
and the Lift Experience ans Ski & Ride School Leaders !

Incredible questions, discussions, ideas, realizations, vulnerability and so much more. There is a lot of support here in these groups and I'm so glad I was able to provide them with the tools they want and need to be even stronger teammates, friends, family, community members and leaders.

Leading up to the 50k...
Well, I've done a garbage job at posting months of incredible runs I've enjoyed (and some I didn't enjoy) for the past many many MANY month that I've been training for my first ultramarathon. And now we're here. Here's a few shots from the last 24 hours. I feel incredible grateful to be able to even attempt this gorgeous route, with the support of aid stations and markers, and the support of my friends and my cute little fam. I'm mostly excited. All that's left is to sit in a hot tub for a bit, drink so much water, massage and stretch, eat dinner, pack my vest, put my bib on my shorts, lay out my outfit, shower, brush the chomps, take my vitamins, set my alarm for the butt crack of dawn, attempt to rest my body and rest my mind for as many hours as possible, get out of bed, drink a little coffee, eat one homemade muffin every 30 mins or so, expell the bowels as many times as possible, put all the gear on my body, get dropped off, kiss my little love and my big love, and walk to the start line. That's all. Then I just do what I've been doing for months. Following the magpie, enjoying the views, smiling and thanking people at each aid station, and trying not to trip and fall.

Hey Daddy Egg Bag crew! Anyone remember me saying I wanted to come back to the with my bike? Well, we decided to ! Technically over two trips, but in 2022, we biked from our house in South Lake Tahoe, California to Seattle, Washington. And two weeks ago we flew to Seattle with our bikes and pedaled here. I was giddy all day yesterday and have felt at home here. But the bunk lodge doesn't feel the same without our wonderful crew of writers/comedians/trail runners that came together thanks to , , and . So, this time we camped, and it was wonderful! Once again, I need to come back. Next time, with that cute little puppy dog you read about in my personal narrative, and our mountain bikes (and some trail running shoes because / told me not to run in my keen sandals haha). Love you all. Miss you all. I hope you're all writing and running and laughing.

I've got the runs! Hah! Since I'll be butt in saddle for the next 2.5 weeks sans running shoes, here is a throwback to some of my favorite photos from runs over the last month. It hasn't been easy. Physical health challenges have made every day and wee a challenge. But I'm grateful to my running coach for supporting me through each and every one, and celebrating all the wins, which are mostly the times when I take it easy or fully rest. I do have a big goal ahead - the 50k in September! I hope to not only make it to the start line, but also the finish line before cut off. While I'll be out of runners for a few weeks, I'm hoping I'll build a great base for hill climb endurance during out bike tour. Do you have a running goal this year? Or other fun outdoor adventure goal? I WANT TO HEAR 'EM!

Throwback! To the last Adult Certification Course we taught end of May, locally and in-person in South Lake Tahoe. We're about to head out for my yearly BIG holiday / time away from the business. When I return, we'll have four courses in the span of 5 weeks, which will certify up to 65 people! 50 of them will be local to South Lake Tahoe! This is HUGE for our community.

Traveling to Atlanta, Georgia was a unique and special experience. It was my first time being flown somewhere since becoming self-employed. I'd also never been to anywhere in Georgia! So, I made sure to gift myself a little extra time there to bike and run and connect. The highlight was the ! I got teary eyed within the first fee minutes, and didn't get to spend nearly enough time there, not seeing anywhere close to all the important spaces, but I feel so grateful to have got the time there I did. The bike tour with was wonderful. We start at and continue to see a variety of street art and murals and I learned a lot! It was a safe ad stress-free way to see important places and learn a little about Atlanta. I also got to enjoy a brief run along rhe Chattahoochee River and it was beyond gorgeous! I loved how green Atlanta is. To say the least, I can't wait to go back, meet new people and connect more with the culture. Oh and I also learned how out of place I was because I don't use Sir and Ma'am regularly. I'm sure I was clearly a Californian.

Successful Youth Certification for 26 teachers/staff at ! Here's a few photos from my days prepping and teaching in the Vinings area of Atlanta, Georgia. I feel incredibly privileged to have had the opportunity to train this group, and facilitate really powerful discussions. Some of my favorite were around differences in culture, the impact one's family has on a youth, and the reality that we might be using the SOS button on a Garmin InReach rather than dialing 911 or 988 in some crisis situations.

Heyo! If you don't know me, my name is Natasha Buffo. My last name is Italian and it translates to silly! I learned this is college and was pleasantly surprised to find that my last name not only would keep me connected to my dad forever, long after he has passed, but that it matched my personality so well. I learned most of my silliness from my beautiful mom, Tina, and my friend and mentor, Brian. Fortunately, I found my partner in silliness, and he also happens to be a talented photographer who knows how to make me laugh.

I hope in the coming days and weeks to share more about myself, what I am passionate about, and how I hope to connect with you all. Let me know in the comments what you'd like to see photos of or what you'd like to hear me chat about. Lots of topics on the table, but I tend to focus on outdoor adventure, mental health, books, self-care, writing, self-employment, and friendship.

You stay classy. Thanks for stopping by.
