How often do you check in with yourself? How often do you stop through out the day to take a deep breath, slow down, and see how you are feeling? We often ask other people how are you feeling, but we never think to ask ourselves. Taking the time to do these things will increase your emotional intelligence and the quality of your life.

Our Emotional Home Base is the place that our emotional state goes when things become challenging, we get irritated, or problems arise. It’s the place we usually go because it’s most familiar to us and the place we usually allow ourselves to go. It’s definitely easier to allow ourselves to fall into negative emotions which then become our emotional home base. It’s much harder to have a higher state of well-being when life gets tough and the long term result is emotional suffering. Challenge yourself to change your home base to one that is based on emotional integrity and promotes your well-being and the well-being of those you share your life with. You can do this by correcting yourself each time your mind goes to your negative home base. The end result is a stronger and healthier emotional home base.
