I wrote this book for women everywhere ready to reclaim their power from dieting. To release weight easily on their own terms. With love and compassion for themselves.

But I dedicated it to my kids. They were there through all of it—the days I struggled, the days I persevered. They inspired the changes I made to become the version of myself I am today.

If you’re on your own journey…Follow your why. Make space in your brain for empowered thoughts. Don’t waste your time on the scale. Spend your time making the choices that give you a long, happy, healthy life.

“I’m breaking up with you.”

My client texted me this photo this morning.

Not because she gained, not because she reached her goal weight, but because she was sick and tired of the conversation about her number taking up space in her head.

After years of tying her worth to a fluctuating digit…
Of stepping on the scale hoping it would tell her she was “good” today…
Of letting it determine what she ate, how she felt, and who she believed she was…

She finally said: Enough.

We’ve been doing the deep work together—healing her relationship with food, with her body, and with her self.

This moment? It’s not about giving up.
It’s about reclaiming power.

If you’ve ever felt trapped by the number on the scale, I want you to know there’s another way.

And it starts with letting go of the thoughts that never truly served you.

The truth is you know your body than any number.

You know when you feel confident, excited for your next photo opportunity and a glimpse of yourself in the mirror.

You actually get to feel that the entire time you’re on your way to where you want to be. It’s safe for you to have positive feelings about yourself on the journey to release weight. Most of us have just been taught the scale dictates it.

It doesn’t.

I was at a retreat in California celebrating authors and speakers who just finished their books and TedEx Talks.

Our business coach, gave us GOAT necklaces. I had finished my book. But being the greatest of all time? How could I identify with that?

But this person...these women...genuinely believed in me.

There were many times I was brought to tears at the retreat. Actualizing my full potential and embodying the body of work I’ve poured into the last two years was profound.

I went from not believing I am one of them to owning my worth as a leader and an entrepreneur.

It might look like health was always easy for me. But there really was a time when I genuinely believed something was wrong with me.

I share in my book how I’d yo-yo diet, gain and lose the same 30 pounds, look in the mirror, suck in my stomach, and promise myself: “This time, I’ll be better. More disciplined. More on track.”

I’d crushed goals in other areas of my life. I knew how to set goals. I’d stopped drinking. I finished two master’s degrees. I ran a marathon.

But when it came to food and my body... it always felt like I was behind, broken, or starting over again.

It wasn’t until I stopped trying to fix my body — and started listening to it — that everything changed.

🌿 That’s when Energetic Eating was born.

It’s not about tracking or restricting. It’s about aligning your body, brain, and beliefs so that weight release and wellness becomes effortless.

I was never a runner.

I was third to last in the elementary school mile. People made fun of the way my legs kicked out. I was one of the slowest on the basketball court. I was a heavy smoker.

But deep down, I always had a spark—a quiet whisper telling me: There’s more for you. Hang in there.

That whisper stayed with me through my hardest moments—struggles with addiction, severe depression. And somehow, I always found a way forward.

I ran one marathon. Then a second. Not for the glory, but because I thought controlling my body would fix everything. It didn’t. And honestly? Marathons wrecked my knees. So I let them go.

But today, I run for a different reason. Not to shrink. Not to prove anything. But to celebrate strength. Stability. Possibility.

I have a new challenge: In 10 weeks, I’m aiming to shave two minutes off my mile time and become the fastest woman in my age group at a June 1st 5K.

Because if you had told 10-year-old me… or 20-year-old me… or even 30-year-old me that I’d be doing this at 42? I wouldn’t have believed you.

And yet—here I am. Training. Pushing forward.

It hasn’t been easy. Six weeks ago, I strained my back. It would have been a perfect excuse to quit. Instead? I committed to PT, listened to my body, and still managed to shave 30 seconds off my mile time so far.

I am still rehabbing it, but I trust the process.

This is what rising looks like. This is what thriving looks like.

I don’t know if I’ll hit my goal. But I do know this: I GET to try. And that, in itself, is everything.

June 1st—here we go.
