Sgt. Troy Hamilton is doing great, home health is going to come out and do his PT and OT at the house where he’s staying, which is very nice. Lieutenant DiCostanzo brought over a quilt for Troy that was made by a group of women who saw his story on Facebook. Their group is called “Quilts for Cops” group.

We’re still looking for wheelchair accessible ways for him to get to and from doctor’s appointments, so if anyone has a concrete ideas on how to do that, we’d love to hear them! ♥️

THANK YOU, Quilts for Cops

UPDATE:
As we all prepare to celebrate the holidays this year, let’s remember Troy Hamilton and his family who have been at the hospital, and at his side, for several weeks now as he recovers from the brutal car accident he was in almost a month ago!

This is the GREATEST update I can possibly imagine because at this time, we do not have any major news/updates to report!
Under the circumstances, and with the severity of his injuries, this is awesome news! Although he can still use more of our help, he is progressing in his recovery!

Please continue to keep the Hamilton family close to your heart, and please continue to share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and loved ones, so that anyone who hasn’t seen it yet may have the opportunity to help and donate to his family! Let’s make this a Christmas for him to remember, and not because he spent it in the hospital! ♥️

To Troy, although you’ll be celebrating Christmas in the hospital this year, please remember how valuable and deserving you are! We all wish your family a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, and the New Year you deserve to have!

Let’s help get him back to where we want/need him, as a community, and more importantly as a family! Let’s continue to share this link and help him until he can put that uniform back on, and be the guy we everyone fondly remembers as “one of the most dedicated people on his team,” according to every one of his coworkers! ♥️
We’re all thinking of you, Troy!

OH TROY, after nearly A MONTH in the hospital, this smile shows exactly who you are! Forever kind, forever optimistic, and always a jolly man, even when you’re suffering! Keep up the hard work, keep taking great care of yourself, and know that you have people all over who want to help you and your family during this trying time!

Thank you, Santa, for visiting Sgt. Troy Hamilton while he’s still in the hospital! ♥️
Today’s update from Troy’s daughter:

“My dad has had a few days now in inpatient rehab working with Physical and Occupational therapy. They are happy to see how well he’s doing. Like we have mentioned, I think a lot of the reason has to do with how he has kept himself healthy—It truly makes a difference. The hospital just mentioned that he may be able to be discharged by Thursday or Friday which would be amazing! Thursday would mark 28 days in the hospital. Once he is discharged, he will be going to my Nana’s, or his mother-in-laws, because it is wheelchair friendly and only 5 minutes from their home! The hospital staff said that it is amazing that they have that resource. He’s still sore and they are slightly worried about managing pain once he’s out of the hospital, but the progress is still showing!”

Let keep sharing this fundraiser so we can help provide financial support for their medical bills, and also to help them replace their vehicle that was totaled in the accident! ♥️♥️♥️

PLUS, Santa paid him a visit! After so many weeks in the hospital, I can see why he’s smiling!
Next up, let’s help their family with medical expenses, preparing for him to go home, and helping them replace their vehicle that was totaled in the accident!
Alone, our powers aren’t as strong, but together, WE HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THIS FAMILY!
Thank you ALL who have clicked, donated, and shared Troy’s story!
If you’ve already shared it, we thank you! If you’ve already donated, we thank you!
Now is the time to do what we KNOW makes the biggest difference for donations!
The biggest difference comes from sharing this link; person to person, via text/email, and also continuing to share it on social media! ♥️♥️♥️

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Troy Hamilton was set to be discharged from a Medford hospital on Thursday, nearly three weeks after he was seriously injured in an off-duty crash.

Through the generosity of this community, and family from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, we all want to thank each and every one of you who has taken the time to donate and share this fundraiser for an AMAZING MAN who takes care of our community, and would go out of his way to help ANYONE, whether he knows them or not!

We have a new goal today! This week, Troy made a bit of progress! After 18 days in a hospital bed, they can now transfer him to a wheelchair for short periods of time! He’s transferring to an in patient rehabilitation center at the hospital while he recovers, but we have a new goal today! As of now, the plan is that when he can transfer, he will go to an ADA accessible facility until he can bear weight and go home!

LET’S GET HIM HOME SOONER TO CONVALESCE! We may need to do some modifications to their home to make this happen, but with continued shares, clicks, and support, I believe we can make this happen sooner than later!

We all deserve to recover where we are comfortable, and right now, he wants to be in his own space!

Let’s help make this happen for someone who is a truly amazing person who absolutely deserves to recover in the comfort of his own space!

Thank you all for sharing this fundraiser! We’re all overwhelmed at how many people have come together to ensure Troy can focus on HEALING, not money!

Eternal gratitude for every single one of you who has helped us come this far in such a short time!

Update on Troy Hamilton:

After a long 18 days of staring at the 4 walls between ICU and the post—surgical floor of his hospital rooms, this morning Dad was finally able to transfer to the wheelchair and make his way out into the hall! Additionally, his hemoglobin is finally making its way back to normal as of this morning! Woohoo! Let’s keep the good news coming!

Update for Sgt. Troy Hamilton, JCSO! This is the most recent info we have on Troy’s condition…..

My dad has been dealing with multiple blood clots that were found throughout his legs & hips. This occurred from the trauma of the accident, limited mobility due to the broken pelvis and fibula, and his blood clotting disorder.
Yesterday, he had a thrombectomy procedure in both legs because the healthcare team found clots collecting in the IVC filter that was placed to protect clots from entering into the heart.
The physicians did a great job removing most the clots, however he was bleeding a little more than they liked at the procedure site so they stopped a little shy of retrieving all the blood clots. They are now managing the remaining blood clots, and the hope is that the procedure from yesterday, along with the latest medications, will help get them under control. However, we're not completely out of the woods yet. Because of the blood loss yesterday he’s needed 3 transfusions so far and for some unknown reason his hemoglobin numbers aren’t improving.
