Never Give Up, Never Surrender

Hey, Nutrition Warriors!

I just got back from beautiful Hawaii, but life threw me a curveball with a grade one meniscus contusion and a sprained LCL. So, what's the game plan? It’s all about balance—especially as I approach the big 5-0 in July!

In moments like this, I’m reminded that strength isn’t just about pushing through pain; it’s also about listening to our bodies. Healing is a crucial part of the journey back to fitness. Here’s what I’m focusing on:

1. Healing First: I’m taking the time to let my body recover. Turning 50 is a reminder that I want to continue being active and vibrant for many years to come. It’s tempting to rush back into intense workouts, but I know that patience is key. I’m giving myself a solid three weeks to heal before I ramp up the intensity.

2. Strengthening Gradually: Once I’m ready, I’ll ease back into strengthening exercises. This isn’t just about building muscle; it’s about rebuilding my confidence and stability. Think of it like laying down the foundation before constructing a skyscraper.

3. Listening to My Body: Every day is a new opportunity to check in with myself. If something feels off, I adjust. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to take a step back to leap forward.

As I celebrate this milestone birthday, I’m more committed than ever to nurturing my body and mind. Let’s embrace each phase of our journey together, focusing on healing, strength, and resilience.
