if i could describe a perfect sunday afternoon this would be it!! this year i have added 7 new beds. they will lie dormant and collect garden waste this year in preparation for use next year 🙌🏾

2 years ago i sat on my back porch and saw this. i knew it would happen i just didn’t know how it would come together 💛 i am so grateful for the process & for being in alignment with my spirit team. 🧜🏾‍♀️💛✨

oxeye daisies are probably taking over right now if you have them in your garden. they are a bit invasive but they have wonderful properties to help our respiratory systems & heal our skin. pick them anytime. the leaves can be eaten when young. use the flowers & leaves to make t’s, soaks, tonics, balms & beautiful arrangements!

i was invited to enjoy lunch with VCOM students, faculty & staff as they celebrated their annual Food and Nutrition as Medicine event. i enjoyed a delicious lunchtime experience featuring nutritious dishes from a variety of cultures. a perfect reminder that good food is good medicine!

the “Food and Nutrition as Medicine” (FANAM) elective at VCOM-Carolinas is a pilot lifestyle medicine course launched in 2020 to teach medical students practical nutrition, culinary skills, and patient-centered dietary assessment. it focuses on addressing food security, nutrition education, and metabolic diseases through community-centric care and evidence-based nutrition.

🥰 i got to spend the morning and my heart was so full that it almost burst out of my chest!! i was able to have so many quality conversations with the students about their next steps. they had a ball grinding up herbs - a few even bought some remedies! 🥹

i received numerous compliments on how creative my table was and many told me they were drawn to my table because of the vapors i was burning. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

this one was definitely for my soul 🧜🏾‍♀️

my mother changed the trajectory of my life by breaking a lot of generational curses. that allowed me to freely explore myself with limited boundaries. her mother, my granny, was very neglectful towards her so i am grateful beyond measure for the sacrifices my mom made for me.

i only have one child who only has one parent. i am determined to give her so much more than i even had…so this is why you are privy to my ingredients but not my recipes. because of my lineage i am discovering knowledge i never knew existed. i know that is something truly special. out of my family (siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins) i am the 2nd to graduate from college (the 1st within my immediate family and 1 of 4 out of all 23 of us) and the first to be operating a successful business.

eucalyptus trees are a wonderful addition to a garden if you have the space! they grow up to 120 feet tall and the trunk can get up to 3 feet in diameter!! euc trees experience rapid growth in the early years growing 3-10 feet per year 🥵 it feels like the more i cut the more it grows!
