Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the moms out there!!

Breastfeeding is one of the most biologically normal things humans do - and one of the least supported! Here are a few things I wish I knew about breastfeeding before becoming a mom. What would you add to my list?!

This includes assessing primitive reflexes, feeding reflexes, as well as overall tone and developmental milestones! I had the sweetest models for a photo shoot last week! This little guy was such a trooper!

Here is a glimpse of what a typical session at Milk & Motion might look like - in addition to ensuring breastfeeding or bottle feeding is doing well! Lots of interaction and teaching moments - I love helping families achieve feeding goals and helping babies meet their developmental milestones and become more comfortable in their bodies!

Feeding is the first developmental milestone for infants! If baby is struggling with difficulty latching, inefficient milk transfer, poor weight gain - OR - mom is struggling with painful latch, low milk supply, oversupply, clogged ducts, etc - reach out for help, so many variables but often a few easy tips can make the process easier for everyone involved!

Had a great time talking to the Valley Hospital Mommy and Me group yesterday! They meet the 2nd Wednesday every month from 10 am - noon. The meeting is free and open to the public, complete with an adorable craft each month! We had a great conversation about the nervous system and helping moms and babies learn how to regulate themselves and co-regulate together. I brought my little with me and she loved playing with all the babies and even participated in the craft they planned!

I loved being able to collaborate with Kim and Alexis who are the amazing Valley Hospital IBCLCs!

Excited to be collaborating with the lactation consultants at Valley Hospital next week! They host a Mommy and Me group once a month that is free and open to the public! Had a great time hosting at the Baby Bump Expo this morning! Loved getting to meet so many pregnant mommas, their amazing support systems, and so many fantastic local providers! I also loved getting to see so many friends! Thanks, again, to Bear Creek Pediatrics for hosting such an amazing event!
