As we round out 2024, I look back on the year and am grateful for how God has moved in our lives.
He guided me to pursue my love of teaching plant based/whole foods cooking classes, and then proceeded to open doors for this to happen. (This required me to leave a comfortable job of 17 years and step out in FAITH to what I felt HIM calling me to.) Obedience was/is my word.
After 23 months of being in constant pain, He directed Paul to have a total hip replacement. This was to remove a rod and pin that was placed in his leg in January of 2023, after he took a fall. He now has almost no pain on most days. Just needs to strengthen that weak leg. Praise God!
We both are looking forward to what GOD has in store for us in 2025. Paul building up his strength so we can attend more Eight Days of Hope mission trips, along with our local Love in Action days.
My first cooking class of 2025 will be on Saturday, January 11, 10am-2pm, at Hanover First Church of God. I will be going back to "Foundations of a Plant Based Lifestyle". This is for anyone who is not familiar with this Lifestyle and would like to know more.
Cost is $75 and includes:
*Conversation that God is invited in to.
*All “hands on” class.
*A teaching segment.
*Making a main meal, breakfast, and a snack that you will take
home.
*Cookbook that has a lot of Kay’s “go to” recipes.
*Binder that has a layout of the class, and recipes made that day.
*Promised FUN time of fellowship and learning.

Say what?? White bean protein squares?
I was never much of a tofu lover, but came across a recipe for bean “tofu”. Trying to get more plant based protein into my hubby who had a recent surgery. (Doing well I might add.)

I made a simple stir fry the first night and tonight a veggie tomato mixture over rice. This was amazing!! This may be a weekly staple in our home. ❤️ 🫘 🍅

One of the nice things about going Plant Based. Once established, the ingredients are in the pantry to make a simple granola. No special running to the store for what I needed. My breakfast for the next week, done in under 45 minutes. 5 minutes to mix up, 30 in the oven.

My first “official” plant based cooking class as Treebark and Berry Girl was a BIG success! Held at Amblebrook in Gettysburg, for their residents. I had 4 guests and they all told me they had a wonderful time and learned a lot.
Comments were:
“I now don’t feel like eating plant based is daunting.”
“I’m so glad I came this was so informative.”
“I needed a reset, this is just what I needed to get back on board after being away for 1 1/2 years.”
“I am a 5 year breast cancer survivor I need this for my health. But it is so difficult letting go of familiar foods.”
We cover mindset in the class which is half the battle of making a lifestyle change.

I will be holding this same class on Nov. 9, 10-2, at Hanover First Church of God.
“Foundations of a Whole Foods/Plant based Lifestyle”. This class gives you the basics and the WHY behind this lifestyle.
