💔 THE MOMENT AMCC WAS BORN: When a Family's Worst Nightmare Became a Mission to Save Others 💔
There was a moment when everything changed forever.
A moment when a loving mother realized that providing life-sustaining medical care to her medically complex daughter could be weaponized against her family. A moment when "doing everything right" medically was twisted into "evidence of neglect" by a system that didn't understand medical complexity.
That mother was me. That daughter was Saleena. That moment became AMCC.

When your child's survival depends on central lines, TPN, complex medications, and round-the-clock medical care, you become more than a parent - you become a pediatric ICU nurse, a pharmacist, a life-support specialist. But the system saw our medical expertise as "suspicious." Our competence became "concerning." Our love became "liability."
The day social services questioned whether we were "too involved" in Saleena's medical care, I knew we weren't the first family to face this impossible choice: Let your child's medical needs go unmet, or risk being accused of medical abuse for meeting them.

Nancy Schaefer's groundbreaking research exposed the systematic corruption in CPS/DCF - but no one had documented the specific targeting of medically complex families.
