Mrs. Brown is the epitome of a mental health advocate, leading with exceptional care and compassion for every student she serves. Laurie Swain, RYT 500, Arisa Health Recovery at Mills Yoga Instructor, offers weekly sessions using a trauma conscious approach to hatha style yoga that includes mindfulness, breathwork and physical postures, weaving in application to recovery principles and practices. The intention is to increase self-awareness and empower clients to calm and soothe themselves naturally. These practices provide a healthy coping response for potential triggers and daily life stressors to help prevent relapse.
______
Peggy Kirkpatrick, Program Manager, says, “Mills works diligently to meet clients where they are in their recovery journey and to provide opportunities to learn new coping skills beyond traditional treatment approaches. Through specialized services such as art and yoga classes, clients are encouraged to explore healthy forms of self-expression, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and stress management. For some clients, this is their first opportunity to experience activities like yoga or creative expression in a supportive and therapeutic environment, helping them build confidence, discover new strengths, and develop healthy coping strategies that support long-term recovery and personal growth.”

We have a great program with many wonderful successes at Arisa Health Recovery at Mills and would very much appreciate your continued referrals to our program. Please call Danielle "Paige" Goforth, Admissions Coordinator, at (870) 253-9026. Grant beds are limited at this time but there are plenty of private insurance beds available.

Fayetteville Public School Bus Driver and Substitute Teacher, Betty Arambel is being honored as a 2026 Arisa Health Mental Health Champion! 💙

Assistant Principal Brooke Buckley said, "Mrs. Betty is the definition of a Mental Health Champion because she shows up for students in ways that go far beyond her job description. As a bus driver serving students with special needs, she creates a calm, predictable, and welcoming environment during a part of the day that can often feel overwhelming. Her patience, consistency, and genuine care help students begin and end their day feeling safe, seen, and valued. That kind of emotional grounding matters more than most people realize. Her impact doesn’t stop at the bus doors. As a regular substitute in the Structured Learning Classroom, Mrs. Betty brings that same steady presence into an academic setting, supporting students with complex needs with compassion and respect. She builds trust quickly, responds to students with empathy, and helps maintain a sense of stability even when routines change. Mrs. Betty doesn’t just support student learning, she actively nurtures their well-being, making her an invaluable part of the community and a true champion for mental health."

This week, Arisa Health joins healthcare organizations across the country in recognizing National Nurses Week and honoring this year’s theme from the American Nurses Association: “The Power of Nurses™.”

At Arisa Health, we see that power not simply in clinical skill or medical knowledge, but in compassion, presence, advocacy, resilience, and humanity.

We see it in the nurse who helps someone feel safe during a mental health crisis.

In the calm voice that brings reassurance during uncertainty.

In the consistency of care offered day after day, often in moments that are emotionally complex and deeply personal.

Our nurses serve across behavioral health, substance use treatment, crisis response, integrated care, and community-based services throughout the many communities we are privileged to serve. Their work changes lives in ways that are both visible and unseen.

We also recognize that this season has brought significant change and uncertainty for many within our organization and across healthcare more broadly. Because of that, our appreciation this week comes with sincerity, humility, and deep respect for the emotional labor that so many healthcare professionals continue to carry while still caring well for others.

To every nurse at Arisa Health, and to nurses throughout our communities:

Thank you for the strength you bring.
Thank you for the compassion you extend.
Thank you for the care, advocacy, and hope you provide even on the hardest days.

The power of nurses is not only found in what you do.
It is found in who you are and the difference you make every day.
Happy National Nurses Week!
