Brittany here! Today’s my “due date” with little man and it truly means very little to me. I’ve had this deep, instinctual feeling that he will be on the later side since I got my first positive pregnancy test. I’ve been mentally preparing for going past my due date and it’s definitely paid off. Pregnancy and birth are all about mindset and this post shares a few things I’ve dwelt on these past 9 months!

It’s important as well to keep in mind that I am a low risk pregnancy this time around. My last pregnancy ended quickly in an induction at 39 weeks (so this is the longest I’ve ever been pregnant!) and I will always be so grateful for the interventions that helped me bring our little girl into the world. As I always say, interventions are tools and should they come into play with this delivery, I’ll be grateful for them then too. But until then, we wait, rest, and take in how life is now before our little guy appears! 💙

Emily is a wife to her loving husband, Jason. She holds her bachelors in Nursing and Health Science, and is currently working towards her Masters in Midwifery. Her own personal experiences with adoption and nursing ignited a deeply rooted passion for her to work with women and children as a helping hand and advocate. With nursing experience in the NICU and an integrative medicine clinic, her desire is to meet families wherever they are along their journey and provide holistic, compassionate care and support.

I have been in the birth world helping mothers with breastfeeding, childbirth education and doula support since 2020. Starting with breastfeeding and diving into everything else has been a literal dream. Through my own struggles with breastfeeding and my own empowering births I strive to help all families experience intentional support and empowering journeys. I have had the privilege to be a doula for a mother who had a previous cesarean. She confidently had a beautiful unmedicated VBAC in a hospital setting. It was everything she hoped and prayed for. Getting to experience that with them was unlike anything else. I love getting to empower families in the Springfield Missouri and surrounding area.

Our hearts are truly overflowing with gratefulness to our community for an INCREDIBLE two years. 🥹

When Alyssa and I (Brittany) launched Bloom and Grow, our desire was to bring compassionate, evidence based, and intentional support for mamas to have empowered births.

Adding Hailey (.sederburg) and Lizzy into our team were dreams come true to make our goals a reality.

We feel wildly honored as we reflect back on each and every mama and family that brought (and currently has) us in their world as their families grew.
