Repost from Functional Patterns
Scoliosis isn't just a spinal issue-it's a full-body imbalance.
When tension in the body is unevenly distributed, what appears to be structural misalignment is often a breakdown in tensegrity. The fascia, which connects everything, becomes dehydrated and restricted, leading to compensations that further lock dysfunctional patterns into place.
Scoliosis amplifies these dysfunctions by creating excessive tension on one side of the body, forcing compensations that alter your movement mechanics and restrict mobility.
Over time, this leads to chronic pain, asymmetrical loading, and inefficient movement patterns that traditional approaches fail to address.
The key to restoring function starts with rehydrating the fascia through targeted myofascial release, followed by proper movement to reinforce structural integrity— because isolating the spine won't fix a full-body problem.
