Antibiotics do not treat viral infections, like colds and flu 🤧. ALWAYS seek the advice of a qualified health care professional before taking antibiotics.

Greetings MRC Network!

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we're highlighting the incredible impact of Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers across the country. Whether supporting communities during disasters, public health emergencies, or everyday outreach, MRC members are at the heart of service.

To all of our volunteers—thank you. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of others and the strength of our communities.

Please see the message below—originally shared on ASPR/MRC social media—and feel free to share it with your networks or post it to your own platforms to help spread the word and celebrate our volunteers.

From Disaster Response to Everyday Support - MRC volunteers are on the front lines when communities need them most:

✅During Natural Disasters – Assisting with evacuation shelters, distributing supplies, and providing medical care in emergencies like hurricanes and wildfires.
✅In Public Health Emergencies – Supporting vaccination clinics, helping with pandemic response, and educating communities on disease prevention.
✅Providing Mental Health Support – Offering crisis counseling and emotional support to first responders and disaster survivors.
✅Assisting First Responders – Working alongside firefighters, police, and emergency teams to provide medical and behavioral health aid.
✅Building Stronger Communities – Teaching CPR, first aid, and emergency preparedness skills to local residents.

Across the country, MRC volunteers are saving lives and strengthening our communities.

If you’re already a volunteer, “Thank you.” And if you’re not, you can be.

No Medical Experience? No Problem. While MRC volunteers include doctors, nurses, and EMTs, there’s also a huge need for non-medical volunteers who can assist with logistics, administration, and community outreach. Anyone with a heart for service can contribute.

April is National Stress Awareness month, a great reminder to take a step back and focus on our well-being. Stress is a normal part of life, but managing it effectively can improve our health, productivity, and overall happiness.

Throughout the month, let's take some time to check in with ourselves and each other. A few simple ways to reduce stress include:

âś…Taking short breaks throughout the day
âś…Getting outside for a walk or fresh air
âś…Practicing deep breathing or mindfulness
âś…Staying hydrated and eating nutritious meals
âś…Reaching out for support when needed

If you have any favorite stress-relief strategies, feel free to share them with colleagues! Let's support each other in making wellness a priority.
