We are now offering our adjustable spreader bars and stocks with both lined and unlined cuffs! They are still the same stainless steel construction with push button adjustment but we were able to lower the price a bit with the unlined cuffs.

When we invented what’s now known as the spider gag, we had a problem at shows. Nobody knew what it was. So we needed a mannequin head with an open mouth. We couldn’t find one. So we made one.

This would require not only encasing the models head in mold compound, but filling her mouth with it. Quite stressful.

Using an alginate compound which sets up in about twenty minutes, the models head was covered. At the last minute a big glob of alginate was put in her mouth and she had to hold position for five minutes.

The alginate was then split and removed from her head. Wax was poured in to the mold and then removed. The resultant wax head was then modeled further to remove things like lines from the hair covering etc.

A final mold was then made using silicone and the heads then cast in a rotary casting machine in plastic. It made a striking display with maybe a dozen heads lined up at shows.

The stress the model was under to make this was profound and she was quite a sport about the whole thing.
