Got the wonderful opportunity to work with this handsome man Yugor!

Yugor is a retired bite/protection dog who is very passionate about his job so as you can imagine I was pretty intimidated. It was more important than ever to make sure I set my intentions before hand and let him know what I was here for. ✨️

He loved his session and he showed me many stories about how big and powerful he was and how he cares for his people even in his older age 💛

Even though he presents himself as a big scary guy he's actually a big teddy bear with a lot of love to give if only you pass his background check first of course 😂

Thank you sweet Yugor for the approval 😜

🌬 Lungs & Lymph: The Breath-Detox Connection You’ve Never Been Told 🫁💧

You think of your lungs for breathing.
You think of your lymph for detoxing.
But what if your breath was the missing force behind your body’s ability to drain inflammation, move toxins, and boost immunity?

Welcome to the Lung-Lymph Axis — the oxygen-powered pathway to whole-body healing.

🫁 Your Lungs: The Silent Lymph Movers

With every inhale and exhale, your diaphragm moves up and down like a hydraulic pump.

This movement:
• Compresses the thoracic duct (your largest lymph vessel)
• Increases lymphatic velocity by up to 10x during deep diaphragmatic breathing
• Drives toxins from lower limbs upward toward drainage points in the chest and neck

Your lungs are mechanical activators of your lymph — but only if you breathe correctly.

😮‍💨 Chest Breathing vs. Diaphragm Breathing

Many people — especially those with anxiety, trauma, or shallow posture — only breathe from the upper chest.

This:
• Reduces diaphragm movement
• Decreases lymph propulsion
• Causes congestion in the legs, belly, face, and head

On the other hand, deep belly breathing activates:
• The thoracic duct
• Cisterna chyli (gut lymph reservoir)
• Parasympathetic tone (rest, digest, and drain!)

💨 The Lung-Lymph-Vagus Trinity

Here’s the magic:

When you breathe deeply:
• You massage the vagus nerve (which runs next to your lungs and heart)
• This calms inflammation and enhances immune signaling
• You also clear carbon dioxide, which helps maintain the pH needed for lymph enzymes to work

It’s a biological symphony:
🫁 Lungs create movement
🧠 Vagus interprets safety
💧 Lymph responds with flow

🌿 How to Breathe for Lymphatic Detox:
1. 5-5-7 Breathwork – Inhale 5 seconds, hold 5, exhale for 7. Repeat for 3–5 minutes.
2. Left Side Sleeping – Improves drainage from the thoracic duct to the heart.
3. Humming or Chanting – Creates vibration that moves fluid in the sinuses, neck, and chest.
4. Deep Cough Technique – Done after dry brushing or MLD to clear lymphatic congestion in the lungs.
5. Movement + Breath (like Yoga or Qi Gong) – Aligns respiratory rhythm with fascia and lymph flow.

🔄 Respiration = Detoxification

You lose 70% of detox waste through your lungs — not your sweat, urine, or bowel movements.

If your lungs aren’t fully expanding, you’re not just short of breath —
You’re short on lymphatic release, emotional release, and healing potential.

✨ Final Thought:

Your breath is your first medicine.
Before lymph moves… before toxins clear… before inflammation calms…
Your lungs must rise and fall with power and peace.

So breathe in healing.
Breathe out stagnation.
And watch your lymph follow the rhythm of your soul.

Chronic back pain can interrupt myofascial force transmission, and here’s how:

🔄 The Myofascial System & Force Transmission

The myofascial system is a continuous, interconnected web of fascia and muscle that transmits mechanical forces throughout the body. When functioning properly, it allows force generated in one area (like the hips) to be transmitted efficiently to another (like the shoulders or spine). This is essential for coordinated movement and postural stability.

🧠 How Chronic Back Pain Disrupts This System
1. Protective Muscle Guarding
Chronic pain often leads to involuntary muscle tension or bracing. This creates uneven loading and localized rigidity, blocking smooth fascial glide and limiting the transmission of force through the kinetic chain.
2. Fascial Densification or Adhesions
Prolonged inflammation and immobility can cause thickening or stickiness in the fascia. These areas resist tension and disrupt the normal transmission of mechanical forces across fascial lines.
3. Neuromuscular Inhibition
Pain alters motor control, especially in stabilizing muscles like the multifidus or transverse abdominis. Weak or inhibited muscles can’t contribute effectively to the force chain, leading to compensations.
4. Loss of Elastic Energy Transfer
Healthy fascia stores and transfers elastic energy during movement (like a spring). Chronic tension and restriction reduce this recoil capacity, making movement less efficient and more fatiguing.
5. Asymmetry in Load Distribution
Pain leads to altered movement patterns and compensatory loading, which further distorts the fascial lines and force vectors in the body.

🌀 Clinical Implications
• Reduced performance & coordination
• Increased risk of injury elsewhere (compensation)
• Slower recovery due to poor tissue adaptability

✅ Therapeutic Considerations
• Myofascial release therapy to restore glide and elasticity
• Movement re-education to correct compensation patterns
• Progressive load training to re-establish balanced force transmission
• Breathwork & vagus nerve stimulation to downregulate chronic tension

❌ This concept applies to any area of chronic pain, not just the back. Chronic pain disrupts the myofascial system’s ability to transmit and distribute force efficiently, no matter where it’s located in the body. Chronic pain is not isolated. It creates a ripple effect through the myofascial web, altering how tension, load, and movement are distributed across the body.

When we talk about health, most people focus on the physical: posture, digestion, or even stress management. But Cranio-sacral Therapy(CST) invites us to listen more deeply—to the emotional imprints held in the body’s tissues and organs.

Eastern medicine teaches that every organ resonates with specific emotions. CST helps us connect with these subtle patterns and release what’s been held beneath the surface.

Take the lungs, for example: grief and sadness can lodge here, restricting movement and vitality. In a CST session, you might feel a softening in this area—not just physically, but emotionally. The body begins to let go.

Did you know your emotions can deeply impact your organs? 👀

▪️In Chinese medicine, each organ is linked to a core emotion:
🫁 Lungs — Grief and sadness. Unprocessed grief can weaken lung Qi and interrupt the natural rhythm of release.
🫀 Heart — Joy and love. Imbalance here—too much or too little emotion—can cause inner dissonance.
⚡️ Liver — Anger and frustration. Held anger can stagnate liver Qi, affecting both emotional and physical flow.
🤒 Spleen — Worry and overthinking. Chronic worry depletes energy and can show up as fatigue or digestive issues.
⚠️ Kidneys — Fear and anxiety. Fear drains kidney Qi, reducing resilience and grounding.

In Cranio-sacral Therapy, we gently contact the body’s intelligence, offering it the chance to release what it no longer needs—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

So if you’re feeling tightness, fatigue, or imbalance, it may not just be structural. Ask yourself:
What emotion might this area be holding onto?

For the past year or two, I’ve had more people than ever mention their horse struggling particularly hard after receiving their vaxes.

More than just a bump and a sore, stiff neck for a day or two.

Some have gone laminitic within 12 hours of getting them, despite having no prior metabolic issues.

Horses who had previously been headshakers have had a relapse.

Horses prone to gut issues may have flares.

Some of them are like Oscar, who exhibited a stark change in behavior within a day of getting them, becoming quite reactive.
This happened two years in a row for him.

The horses I’ve seen who are having reactions are not isolated to one area, but across the regions.

I am not a vet, so I am sharing this purely anecdotally, though I’m certainly not the only one who’s noticed this happening.

I am not posting this to debate.
Everyone is pretty much only ever just trying to do right by their horses and their health.

I am posting this to simply share awareness of the fact that reactions are not always “inside the box”, and they seem to be cumulative—as in they may have a harder time handling them each passing year, especially without support.

You know your horse best and you are their advocate.
If you recognize that they are struggling to recover from them and you’re concerned, talk to your vet about it.
If they aren’t willing to hear you, find a new one that will help you come up with a game plan.

The good news is, there are ways to support your horse to mitigate the toll they can take and I can help.

I’m so thankful for folks like Oscar’s person Amanda for connecting the dots and recognizing the patterns.💛

Blue was almost euthanized

This is my sisters ottb Blue.
When he first came into our care he was not well, extreme behaviors that was not only dangerous to us but to himself. He was unmanageable and we knew he needed help.

Blue was seen by the vet so we knew it was pain related but trying to find a way to manage it was difficult.Traditional medicine wasn't enough, chiro was too much, couldn't handle a massage, regular bodywork was overwhelming. We were running out of options and we weren't sure what to do.

I stumbled across a page Nova Equine Renovations and showed my sister I told her I had a feeling that this was our answer. Grace came out and work on Blue. Afterwards the chaos he was dealing with finally started to settle. This was years ago and Blue is now not only living but he is thriving.

This is actually the story of what got me started. Finally a form of bodywork that was soothing to the horse and allowed deep long lasting healing. This is why I am truly passionate about what this work can do because it has quite literally saved lives.
