There is something about old European streets in the late afternoon.
The way the light settles softly against stone walls.
The way olive branches move quietly in the wind.
The way nothing feels rushed.
I often think about that feeling when I’m pouring candles.
This week, as the wax melted in the studio, I imagined a small shop near a river in Portugal, warm wood shelves, creamy ceramics, golden tins catching the light. Candles not made for trends, but made to last. Made to belong.
That is what I want Tales of Light to be.
Not seasonal noise.
Not something fleeting.
But something timeless.
So many of you welcomed the recent scents, and I’m deeply grateful. Watching your orders come through reminded me that these pieces travel into real homes, into kitchens at dusk, bedside tables, quiet Sunday mornings.
The studio shelves are full right now - creamy ceramics, golden tins, soft rosé glass - each one carrying its own quiet story.
Some are grounding.
Some are airy and light.
Some feel like early morning.
Others like golden dusk.
And at the heart of it all, Mystic Oak - my signature blend of sandalwood, lavender, and vanilla - steady and grounding.
I’m also experimenting with softer label tones, creamy papers, perhaps a hint of olive ribbon here and there. Subtle changes. Quiet refinements. The kind you might only notice if you look closely.
Because luxury, to me, is never loud.
It is thoughtful.
It is calm.
It is lasting.
Thank you for being part of this little atelier of light.
Michaela
