Places for People Places for People is a non-profit healthcare organization, serving people with severe mental illness in St. Louis, MO, USA.

Places for People engages 1,600 people in ongoing program services. PfP provides outreach to 3,800 people through intake calls, going out into the community to provide resource and referral assistance, and by providing assessment, triage services and referrals to other service providers.

Places for People provides an unparalleled toolkit of programs, services, and resources for people who have serious mental illnesses, typically accompanied by complex and multilayered challenges: chronic homelessness, substance abuse disorder, primary health disorders, and trauma. Our new mission statement, adopted in March 2013, reflects our commitment to serve the most vulnerable people in our community: “Provide caring, effective services to help those with the greatest challenges recover from mental illness and associated chronic illnesses.”

Individuals seeking services at Places for People do not need an appointment. The Places for People Welcome Center, 4130 Lindell Blvd, 63108, has walk-in hours Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. All walk-ins will meet with an intake clinician for screening, information about PfP services, and/or community resources.

Our programs include:

Community Support: Comprehensive, individualized case management services to support our clients' recoveries.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT): An intensive form of community support, serving those for whom traditional services have not been effective.

Therapy: An array of group and individual interventions to promote sustainable recovery.

The Recovery Center: Our day program, featuring skill building in the three focus areas: social/recreational, health/wellness, and vocational/educational.

Employment Support: Assistance with and coordination of employment opportunities for the people we serve.

Incredible Years: Parenting support for families at-risk for behavioral health disorders.

Multisystemic Therapy (MST): Intervention for youths with behavioral health problems, involving their families and support systems.

HIV Services: Treatment and promotion of healthy choices for people diagnosed as HIV positive and with a mental illness.
