Shanon Mercado, BSN, RN
I was born and raised in small town Illinois, the oldest of 4 children from divorced parents and predominately raised by a single mom. Though my childhood was filled with times of hardship and family dysfunction, it has driven me to work hard and hold tight to the steady foundation that my praying mama provided me as we weathered the storms. I have realized it is time to step out of hiding and share my voice with others. My mission is to take others along my life journey and it is my hope that by sharing my personal story it will be able to help someone else. By God's Grace and Mercy, I have overcome many obstacles in my life such as bullying, poverty, abuse, self-destruction and sabotage, divorce, and becoming a widow at the age of 36 years old. All of these things which were meant to destroy me, have made me who I am today, so I am grateful for my experiences and all of the lessons I have learned along the way. I continue to learn and grow everyday and this will be my life long mission, as my ultimate goal is true contentment. I am a wife and mother of 4 teens/young adults and a Gigi to my first grandson. It is my desire to be a life long learner, entrepreneur, and continue to work hard to help and inspire others. I am a true sap and love positivity, smiles, nature, travel, and experiencing the beauty of differences (different people, culture, ways of living, scenery, perspectives, etc).
