💙 This moment deserved a post all its own.
Every year, we close the Midwest Pediatric Trauma Conference with a patient story—one that reminds us of the real lives behind the care we provide. This year’s story was nothing short of extraordinary.
We were honored to welcome Brayden and his family to share their journey. Just over a year ago, Brayden was discharged from Cardinal Glennon to Ranken Jordan with the lowest possible score on the functional scale. But thanks to the incredible work of the team at Ranken, the unwavering support of his family, and Brayden’s own strength and determination—he and his mom stood before a room full of caregivers and told his story.
It was a powerful, full-circle moment that brought together every part of his care team—from the flight nurse who was first on scene, to the physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists at Cardinal Glennon, to the dedicated team at Ranken Jordan, and of course, Brayden’s family.
This story is a testament to the impact of every single decision made along the way. It’s a reminder that every role matters—and that together, we can change outcomes for kids like Brayden.
📸 This photo captures that moment—Brayden surrounded by the people who helped him get here. We’re so grateful to have witnessed it, and even more grateful to share it with you.
