5 years ago, I painted my first pair of sneakers with a bottle of paint, a brush, and nothing to do. I had no idea it would grow into what it is today.
Back then, I was working on my dining room table, painting late nights for friends who believed in me before I believed in myself. Those first few clients — you know who you are — you helped me build this from the ground up. Every shoe, every mistake, every lesson became part of my story.
Over time, that little idea called ColtreKicks started opening doors I never imagined. I’ve been blessed to create customs for people I grew up watching, athletes who inspired me, and even a few celebrities who reminded me I was meant to be here.
Then last year, life hit hard. I had major surgery that forced me to slow down….physically and mentally. For the first time, I couldn’t paint. I couldn’t move the same. And I had to face the silence that comes when your dream is on pause.
But what I learned is this, when you build something with love, it never really leaves you. Even when you’re still, the work you’ve done keeps moving. The support, the messages, the people who checked in….you reminded me why I started in the first place.
So this next chapter means everything to me.
This November, I’m celebrating 5 years of ColtreKicks, my 40th birthday, and my official comeback with the launch of a second website, a merch drop and a cleaning kit.
To every client, every friend, every person who’s ever rocked a pair or believed in the vision — thank you. You’re part of this BIG SHOE ENERGY forever.
The rebirth begins now.
