$70 billion a year we are told to hate our bodies, size, appearance and informed to be worthy we must be smaller. It's incredible how large of an industry this is! It's time to change our thinkings and to find tolerance with our bodies instead of hating them. It hurts us all when we don't believe we are worthy, simply because we are a "different" size than what's acceptable. NO MORE DIET CULTURE!

When we live in a world that is fatphobic and unkind to people in different bodies, there becomes unsafety to live in our bodies. Everyone deserves to have body respect, whatever shape, size, color or background you come from.

There are so many myths that surround the media about what it looks like to have an eating disorder or which are more "serious." I am here to say that ALL eating disorders are valid. ALL eating disorders are serious and ALL eating disorders receive appropriate care for their struggles.

Feeling stuck in your eating disorder can feel so overwhelming. Days are hard, long, lonely and sometimes down right difficult. You CAN do hard things.

Food should be fun, shared, celebrated...part of our lives in a positive way. This may seem impossible for someone struggling with an eating disorder but recovery is possible. I hope you find the day where food is fun again! For those who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter! Here's my Easter bunny basket cake because I love to bake and food can be part of your celebration.

Self care is not selfish. You cannot pour from an empty cup. It’s ok to take care of yourself today and everyday so you can take care of the people and things that are important to you.
I hope you have a self care Saturday, even if it’s for 5 minutes today.

Our relationship with our bodies can be complicated due to our own lived experiences in our bodies, messages from our family about weight, appearance size, diet culture and overall the judgement experienced when told what our bodies should be. It is ok if this relationship is a work in progress. AND you deserve to live in a body that you can tolerate.

It is so important that we take a few quiet minutes out of our day just to check in with ourselves. We often run through life so quickly we don't even know how we are feeling. Here is your reminder to take a break, slow down and to see what you need. You have to take care of yourself to take care of anything else.

The precious moments of life are often stolen by the challenges of your eating disorder. Your life has been intended to live, not focused on counting calories, macros, meals, steps, hours in the gym. Our lives are a collection of relationships, aspirations, adventures, travels and moments created from memories. You deserve so much more than your eating disorder. Recovery is possible. You deserve to live in recovery too.

Eating disorders and self hate go hand in hand. The ED voice becomes more powerful telling you that you are not good enough, too much, not worthy etc. That self hating voice inside your head is not serving you well. I believe EDs are very protective and provide a purpose, at some point that purpose no longer serves us. You deserve more that the negative inner critical. It's time to to break it off with self hate.

You have been and always will be enough. It does not matter what your eating disorder tells you. Your ED cannot be trusted as it harms your relationships with food, people, work, leisure etc. You are enough.

We love to focus on our appearance as the most important thing about ourselves, but it's not. Your worth could never be related to your weight. It's time to stop focusing on weight loss as a goal and instead on self acceptance. Your weight is the least interesting thing about you and you are worth so much more!

I often have to remind myself that it is ok to slow down, take a break and relax to recharge. We can only do so much with an empty tank of gas. Your mental wellbeing has to be a priority. If you keep pushing on empty you're not going to the results you are looking for. It's ok to step back, breath, take a break and come back stronger!
