"Hi, I’m Debbie Lewis. Two years ago in May my son got married. I had lost 50 pounds prior to his wedding. By the end of the year, I had only gained 15 pounds back and was holding steady. We tragically lost a beloved German Shepard on January 2, 2023. I sat in a chair, cried and ate for three months. I gained 45 pounds back. In June, my first grandchild was born. I decided that I needed to be around to watch her grow up. I tried to lose weight on my own but was unsuccessful. In October I went to my 45th high school reunion. I bought a size 18 pair of pants to wear to the reunion. I was so discouraged. I came home trying to figure out what I was going to do. I came across Vibrant Life and made the phone call. We are SO VERY proud of our client Linda! She has been working 1:1 with coach Brent for quite some time now and is down nearly 80 pounds! Linda had this incredible testimonial to share.

"My back surgeon, my knee doctor and my GP were telling me I should lose weight. Due to multiple car accidents, I wasn't able to exercise. I had chronic back pain and spent a lot of time "resting" in bed, and my husband would be out in the living room. I missed a lot of church, and going out with my friend. Until I found VL! Hope sprung up in me, and I started the program. I started doing chair exercises, I discovered I can do them without hurting my back, it even helped manage the pain. Soon, I was able to take my dog for short walks, stand longer, and do more cooking. Now I have more good days than bad days. I have been with VL for a little over a year, and I have dropped over 70 pounds. I am enjoying life and grandchildren again! I am back to work as a caregiver for a friend. "I started Vibrant Life in May of 2023 after seeing the ad to do the 5 day challenge. I was looking for some structured guidance for nutrition and exercise that I could do from home. I was following lots of keto pages but found that weight would come off but come back fast and hard. Through Vibrant Life I’ve learned a lasting lifestyle that combines not only the food and nutrition but the mental health tools to form lasting habits. Coming in I was battling extreme sedentary lifestyle and no mindset. Coach Alaina worked miracles helping me with workouts to build my strength and balance and finding alternate exercises when needed. I had the pleasure of meeting Diana Peacock on the inaugural Vibrant Life Clients retreat in Colorado this past week, and got to hear her story first hand. It was such a pleasure to get to know her! We are so incredibly proud of her! With the help of Coach Alaina Harris she has been doing some incredible things.!

"My time in the Vibrant Life program has really paid off. Over the past 30 years I had a severe cough and breathing issues that were diagnosed as asthma. None of the prescribed medicines gave me any relief. My health kept getting worse, eventually ending up on oxygen 24-7. My weight kept going up, 240 pounds, and my ability to move kept going down.
Fall of 2021 I decided that since I couldn't control what my body was doing I could control the food I was eating. With some changes, I was able to drop 70 pounds on my own. I got diagnosed with blood clots lodged in my lungs in mid 2022 and with open heart surgery to remove the clots later in the year, I was able to start walking and doing some gentle exercising.
My weight bounced around for the next year. I was unable to consistently lose and keep weight off. I went online to learn what I needed to change. I saw a free 5 day challenge that Vibrant Life was offering and signed up. Six months later, with the help of a coach and the teachings in the VIP program, I am now 145 pounds. More importantly as a 69 year old woman, I walk 5 miles daily. I enjoy strength training. I can get up and down from the floor. I can balance while getting dressed. The education the program has given me has turned my life into what I always wanted it could be."

"When I started at vibrant life I wasn’t sure I deserved to splurge on a new weight loss plan. I came from spending many years taking care of of my me mental health. With the help of coach Hayley I have been learning what a healthy lifestyle is. Not only have I discovered better ways to approach eating, cooking and exercising; I have discovered how connected these are to my mental health. I am learning that although I get frustrated with “bad” days I can use these to better define what I will be able to do for my next steps. "I joined VL back on 09/08/2023 and the journey has been amazing, to date I’ve managed to lose 61 lbs. Vibrant Life has been more than just weight loss for me. I gained confidence, strength and energy. I went from not being able to get myself out of chair, unable to tie my shoes or even get on the floor with my grandkids. Now I’m walking 10-12K steps daily (3-5 miles), doing kickboxing classes (3x weekly) and now I’m enrolled to Pre-bootcamp (6 week course).
VL is an amazing tool for my success, the coaches are there for you every step of way. They give us daily insights on Food choices, the nutritional values and how it impacts your health and body.
One of my favorites is the monthly challenges – these challenges are so much fun, some are physical, and others are educational, skill setting and foundation building. Each month we’re learning something and incorporating / building into a new daily routine for ourselves.
What I like most about the program – the accountability. The VL App is user friendly and pars with my FITBIT watch. I can log my food and track my daily exercises all in my place. The VL updates in real time, so I can see what I’ve eaten and how it lines up with my daily macros. This holds me accountable for the remainder of the day. The information is right at my fingertips.
I LOVE the VIP group of ladies!!! Where do I even begin, the ladies in this group are hands down absolutely amazing. First - We are on the same journey but each journey is different. Do you have people in your life who you DON’T want to disappoint?

If you have, you’ll reach your goals faster!

Here’s why…

A study published in the International Journal of Sports and Exercise Psychology found that there are THREE types of support that influence our results:

🤝 Emotional support: can help you START and MAINTAIN a health and fitness routine.
This could mean having someone to commiserate with… or someone to cheer you on!

🤝 Practical support: doesn’t necessarily help you START a new routine, but it can help you keep up a routine once you’ve got the ball rolling (like a walking buddy you meet up with every weekend).

🤝 Negative support: can lead you to do LESS! This is when certain people (we all know them!) try to talk you out of your new habits so THEY don’t have to change.

If you don’t have the other two kinds of support, it’s easy to let the negative support sabotage your progress!

My invitation?

Take a minute this week to think about who’s in your corner (or could be) when it comes to you getting healthy.

Does anyone come to mind? Are they clear on what you want to achieve and how they can help you stay accountable?

Congratulations to Patty Kruse on losing 31 pounds since March of this year!!! Here is what Patty has had to say about her experience with Vibrant Life working 1:1 with coach Brent!

"I signed up reluctant it would work, but I was desperate for a change. I struggled with depression and had no energy to get out of bed. I was looking for anything to help, and I liked that it was for women over 50. I've been on a diet all my life and didn't want to eat rabbit food anymore. The sales rep explained the program. I would have access to a group of women that were going through what I was, and I would also have a coach that I could talk to whenever I needed to. I don't have any friends and spent a lot of time alone, so this sounded good. I signed up and started. My coach called, and I was on my way. I was angry and sad that I couldn't have my favorite thing's it took a few weeks to get over that. But the more days of eating cleaner, the less I wanted them. I still had times I wanted something sweet, and I did, and it was OK. I struggled with exercise because I work 3rd shift at Kwik trip and was on my feet 10 hours so when I got home the last thing I wanted to do was walking and strength training was hard because I can't get on the floor. I am 30 lbs down in 3 months and can now get up off the floor, creatively. I am in awe that I am following this, cooking, eating foods I never thought I would, and I'm not craving what was my favorite thing's I go for strawberries and raspberries now. With another 60 lbs to go, and I can actually see it happening where 3 months ago I couldn't."

😵‍💫 Feeling stressed? Got a lot on your plate? 🤯

It’s so much easier to handle it if you can take a few minutes to get calm and recentered.

A calm mind can help you make better decisions and be PROactive vs. REactive when it comes to healthy choices (and everything else)!

Here’s what I suggest:

👉 Take a brisk walk: Even just 10 minutes of walking can help clear your mind and increase endorphins, which can reduce stress hormones.

👉 Practice deep breathing: Try the 4-7-8 technique. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. This can help reduce anxiety and bring your focus back to the present.

👉 Do a quick bodyweight workout: Engage in a short circuit of exercises like squats, push-ups, and lunges. Physical activity can boost your mood and energy levels.

You might be surprised at how much more manageable all the “stuff” feels when YOU feel better.

Slow cookers are AWESOME… until you have to fight to clean off stubborn spots that seem to get baked in! 🤦

Here are a couple of ways to safely deep clean your slow cooker using simple “green” cleansers:

🧽 Simple stains: Make a paste with baking soda mixed with dish soap. Let sit for a couple of minutes to an hour, depending on how stubborn the spot is, and then scrub.

🧽 If you have seriously baked-on stains:
Fill your slow cooker with water until just above the food line. Then:

👉 Add ½ cup (120 ml) distilled white vinegar for a 3-quart slow cooker, or 1 cup (240 ml) for a 6-quart slow cooker.
👉 Slowly pour in ½ cup (110 g) of baking soda for a 3-quart slow cooker, or 1 cup (120 g) for a 6-quart slow cooker. It will bubble! Once it settles down, add a little extra baking soda.
👉 Cover and set your slow cooker to LOW for 1 hour.
👉 When the hour is up, turn off and unplug the slow cooker and remove the lid. Once the water cools, use a soft sponge to scrub away the stains.
👉 Once your slow cooker is fully cooled, wash it in the sink. Let dry.

"Hi Everyone-the picture on the left is from my son's graduation from bootcamp in November of 2023 and the picture on the right is from my daughter's 8th grade graduation on June 17th 2024. I joined Vibrant Life at the very end of January 2024 and have been thriving ever since. That doesn't mean it has been easy or that the weight just fell off or that they gave me this magic pill. It means I found a group of women supporting women with absolutely fabulous coaches who support and cheer you on every step of the way. THIS is how you achieve ANYTHING that’s important to you! 👇

If you keep setting health and fitness goals that fizzle out before you see results, this framework will be nothing short of life-changing (seriously!).

Here’s what you do…

1️⃣ Make three columns on a piece of paper.

2️⃣ Label the first column “I’m the kind of person who…”, the second column “And it’s important to me”, and the third, “So I’d feel good about accomplishing.”

3️⃣ And then fill it out.

🔥 All you have to do now is take action!

From there, it’s a matter of continuing to take action, celebrating your small wins, and reminding yourself WHY you set your goal!

And at some point, you can’t keep pouring from an empty cup.

If you are:

✖️Constantly on edge
✖️Putting off your hobbies
✖️Struggling to find motivation
✖️Feeling disconnected from your passions
✖️Sacrificing your well-being for others

Then it might be time to fill up your cup with things like:

🧘 Meditating
🏋️‍♀️ Work out
📖 Reading
🤸‍♀️ Stretching
🧖‍♀️ Do a face mask
✏️ Writing a gratitude list

Or even sitting outside to get some fresh air and nature!

Even if you only have 10 minutes per day for self-care, I guarantee you’ll come back to your to-do list feeling more focused and more productive.

(All that “busyness” will still be there waiting for you when you’re done, I promise. 😉)
