We have the privilege and honor of serving alongside the Alton Police Department every day and we are mourning in the loss of Odin while also being grateful that he did exactly what he was meant to do which preserved the lives of our officers. Vulnerability is not only subjecting yourself to physical dangers but also opening your heart and mind to the emotional harm the world can bring. Trauma is real and we are praying for our APD men and women, and will be here to do our part in promoting a space of healing and recovery from these unfortunate and tragic events. 💙

Attention all first responders of the Alton community! An on-demand course is being made available to you free of charge due to a grant awarded to Sacred Spaces of CARE through the Illinois Department of Human Services. Space is limited to the first 50 who register. The course is on-demand and can be completed at your leisure within one month of registering. This training is open to law enforcement, fire, EMS, and any first responder who engages trauma on a daily basis.

Course Objective: Identifying and responding to trauma with evidence-based resilience strategies when working with an audience whose trauma history may not be known.
